Puppets and Pandemonium

Dear supporters of Puppets and Pandemonium. Thankyou to everyone's support and encouragement over the last while. This page is a dilemma to me at the moment because of the complete lack of puppets. I love puppetry and hope to make more shows in the future, but for the time being it seems sensible to me to concentrate on painting and drawing as it's really the only way I'm going to progress. I do have plans to start running puppet workshops at some point, hopefully before too long, under the name 'Puppet Wizard'. But it's going to take a fair bit of preparation.
So, for the time being I'm going to try to dig myself out of the rather big hole of debt the last years events have landed me in by being an artist/illustrator for hire.
My first job is painting the school playground wall at Ashley Down Primary School, and so far it's going well and they are really happy with progress. I need to get more work after this and trying to promote artistic/illustration services with a FB page called Puppets and Pandemonium is going to be confusing to any potential customers. So starting a new one called AlexHykelArt seems a sensible next step. If you like what I've been up too recently, then please have a look over for updates. As I learn new techniques I'll share as much as I can.
If it's puppets you're after, I'm sorry, I'm afraid I'll have to disappoint you for the time being, but as soon as we've got a puppet flow going on again I'll let you know here.

This picture is a work in progress (but accepted) design for a mural on the first section of playground wall in Ashley Down Primary School in Bristol. The dimensions are 2.35metres by 4.82 In the final piece, all the bees will be wearing trainer's. One nice feature is that the open books are going to be painted with blackboard paint so the kids can draw on them. [ 76 more words. ]

Gradually making some progress colouring these bees digitally in Manga Studio. Although it's a lot of work getting my head round the program at the moment, the flexibility it provides should be really helpful before too long. Plus it's great for making comics in.
