And we’re back. ❤️

Week one of Tristan & Yseult rehearsals, and it is brilliant to have this glorious gang back in the room. We’ve started finding our way back into this beautiful, unruly show.

Next stop: Theatre Royal Bath from 11 September. Come and see us!

This week our Social Media Captain, Karl Queensborough, takes us behind the scenes of one of the most important parts of the day: the fight call.

North by Northwest is full of fights and near misses. Before every performance, the cast rehearses each of these moments straight after their warm-up. It's led by Simon Oskarsson (Valerian), our Fight Captain.

It's not about learning the choreography from scratch, it's about refreshing the muscle memory and checking distances, reconnecting with your fight partner while making sure every punch, kick and fall is as safe as it is exciting.

So when the action feels fast and thrilling... that's because it's been meticulously rehearsed.

For the next two weeks, our "Magic" (The Guardian) production of calls the ever-amazing and historic Alexandra Palace Theatre home.

It's a joy to be back in this remarkable theatre. Even better, we're almost sold out! There are still a handful of tickets available if you're quick.

We'll be here until 2 August, before this chapter of the tour comes to an end. We have a feeling the show will be back one day, but for now, these are the final performances of this outing.

Congratulations to our intrepid touring team. What an adventure.

Here's to opening night at Ally Pally. ✨

Every tour has its captains.

Alongside our Associate Directors, Producers, and Production team, members of the company take on "captain" roles to help look after different aspects of life on the road and on stage. Depending on the production, these usually include Dance Captain, Fight Captain, Sustainability Captain, Games Captain... and, for this tour of North by Northwest, Social Media Captain.

Step forward Karl Queensborough – otherwise known as the delightfully mysterious Phillip Vandamm.

Karl will be capturing and sharing the moments you don't usually get to see: rehearsals, backstage life, and life on the road.
