On Friday 1st May our Artistic Lead Anita and Misfits poets Bill and Rob spoke at Bristol Walk Fest ’s launch event! 🚶🏻‍♂️🚶🏼‍♀️

We spoke about Misfits on The Move, our audio walk which guides you around Bristol Harbourside with poems from our poetry group.

Tonight the Misfits are part of the launch of Bristol Walk Fest in Bristol! 🚶🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️‍➡️🚶‍♀️🎤
Event is running from 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm at Hamilton House

Misfits have been invited to speak at this event which focusses on art and culture, and features an exciting line up of speakers, including our artistic lead Anita Karla Kelly, who has been working with learning disabled adults for over 20 years, developing their voices and creating new work. Her practise focuses on collaboration, accessibility and creating space for artists who are unheard to tell their stories.

She will be joined by Bill, one of our actors, poets and performers. 🎬🎭

Rhythm of the Night is on Thursday 23rd April this month, at the same time of 7-10pm.

As well as our regular music we will have incredible DJ's from Club Soda coming all the way from London! If you have a membership card make sure to bring it with you.

A huge THANK YOU to all who donated to our Big Give Arts for Impact campaign!

Across the week we raised an incredible £3500 (including gift aid). Thank you to all who shared and donated - we could not have done it without you. 🎉

We also want to give a major thank you to Big Give who match funded our donations, allowing us to raise this amazing amount.

This money supports us to continue offering free Poetry Workshops and to further support our wider workshops, training, films and activities for people with learning disabilities in 2026! We have many exciting things in the pipeline so keep an eye on our website and socials to see more!

🎸 MISSING KISSING MUSIC VIDEO 💋
Last year our poetry group led by Loud-Word worked with Kid Carpet to create an unbelievable rocking anthem of their poem Missing Kissing, about how kissing is brilliant and heart break is real.
In January we then donned our 80's wigs, went down to the Trinity Centre and made a fierce music video with Redweather Productions, and now we get to share it all with you! The bookings for the world tour begin now...
