Last night, and attended the Awards. Congratulations to and on their well-deserved win 🏆 it was an honour to be nominated alongside such iconic talent ✨

Our Artistic Director Cathy also led a fantastic panel exploring visual language in film. What a wonderful weekend, congratulations to everyone involved, and heartfelt thanks to the organisers for such a warm and welcoming event.

Introducing our new base 🌿

A studio nestled in 100 acres of working Somerset countryside: wildflowers, fresh air, and a slightly overambitious dream.

Starting an immersive workshop in a 19th-century shed might raise a few eyebrows, but here we are. At Spectroscope, we know too many creative spaces shut disabled people out. Ours isn’t perfect yet either… the studio has a step, and our (very quirky) disabled compost loo is, let’s say, a work in progress (loo photos coming soon — brace yourselves).

So we’re learning as we go. Fixing, rethinking, and inviting our wheelchair artist allies to help shape what this space can be. Fancy consulting? We’d love to hear from you.

Deaf and disabled-led.
A place to experiment, play, fail (spectacularly), and try again.
To make art, get muddy, and breathe a bit deeper.

It’s not just a shed.
It’s a mission (with wildflowers 🌸).
