They fed us for years at Hamilton House, they teach the most vulnerable people arriving into Bristol how to speak English and give them a network of support to tap into, they offer free community meals each month, emergency food provision, express solidarity and build community through sharing food... What to expect! 🤔
A little over a year ago Coexist launched the Bristol Commons by inviting organisations, groups and individuals to come together to explore how we can collectively create a movement for sustainable community prosperity, work more collaboratively, create a culture of reciprocity (not competition) and collectively systemically shift from a city losing vital resources to a city that is rebuilding our commons.

Currently, we are in a situation where our land is being sold off by our council, community hubs, libraries and leisure centres are closing, and people feel disenfranchised and that there is no way to arrest this slide. 😥

💥 BUT WHAT'S EXCITING IS💥...

The Bristol Commons offers an alternative!!! This is because we see the spaces and resources we manage as part of the commons - something that we all collectively share in relationship to each other.

This gathering will have a focus on recommoning our Green Spaces. We’ll be spotlighting some amazing local work and exploring how we can collaborate more effectively to protect these spaces that are vital for physical health, mental well-being, and biodiversity. They are the lungs of our city and they belong to us all!

The invitation is to come and get involved!!! Please spread the word... There will be inspiring speakers, music, workshops, delicious food by the Coexist Community Kitchen, a children's play space and we will be sharing our draft manifesto for all to engage with. EVERYONE is invited!

☀️We are at a really opportune time. In May our council system will change to a committee system where we can have real influence. ☀️

!!!!!!! Crucially we need YOUR input!!!!

You, individually and or your group/organisation are vital to this work. Everybody matters! ❤️
