⚡ Momentum Scratch Night ⚡
What an amazing evening!

We’re still chatting about and reflecting on the Momentum Scratch Night at Bristol Old Vic last month. There was a fantastic atmosphere in the Studio, and we’ve had lots of great feedback from audiences. A huge thank you to everyone who came and generously shared their reactions and thoughts with the artists: a live audience is so valuable for developing work.

Massive congratulations to all the artists who shared their pieces: Devaki Rajendran, Dionne Draper, Namoo Chae Lee, Tom Marshman, and Viv Gordon. This first Momentum cohort has thrown themselves into the programme - we’ve been really inspired by their ideas and work.

Thank you to our Associate Artist Elisabeth Gunawan who presented the evening, and has collaborated with us to lead the development of this exciting pilot programme. And thanks to our two Scratch Night BSL interpreters Kat Wright and Naomi Bearne.

And of course, thank you so much to Bristol Old Vic for their ongoing support and co-producing this evening with us 💙

📸 Big shout out to Camilla Adams for these fab photos!

📍 Introducing Ad Infinitum Studio! 📍

“We’re excited to share that from March 2026, Ad Infinitum will be moving into a rehearsal and office space at St Anne’s House, Bristol, which will become our new creative home and working base.

This feels like a significant and joyful moment for us. Bristol has been home to Ad Infinitum for over ten years, during which time we’ve largely worked without a permanent base - moving between rehearsal rooms, venues and international contexts. That mobility has shaped who we are, but alongside it we’ve long wanted a physical, artist-led home that reflects our values and supports collaboration, learning and creative exchange.

This space has a recent history shaped by the excellent work of MAYK, a Bristol-based organisation whose programme championed artists and supported the making of new work in the city. As we take it on, we’re committed to continuing that focus, ensuring the space supports artists making work in Bristol.

As we move toward our 20th year in 2027, the Studio allows us to bring people together across perspectives and experiences, supporting connection and care at a time of division and uncertainty. Our longer-term vision is for the Studio to grow into a centre for peace and the arts - rooted in the leadership of historically marginalised artists and communities, and open to all.”

Nir and George
Co-Artistic Directors

⚡The Studio is an accessible and flexible space which is available to hire. We welcome performing arts organisations, independent artists, charities, community groups, and others looking for an affordable, high-quality room for rehearsals, workshops, meetings, training, or conferences.

✨ Huge congratulations to our Associate Artist Mary-Jayne Russell de Clifford! ✨

Mary-Jayne has received Arts Council England funding to further develop her project EVA. Joining Mary-Jayne in the room are performers Zoe McWhinney, Em Prendergast, and Ciaran O’Breen, and stage managers Erica Talbott-Morgan and Hannah Clare. The company are in Birmingham for three weeks of R&D as they explore and develop this exciting new production.

Written and directed by Mary-Jayne, EVA is set in 2080 and explores how a culturally Deaf sign language community survives a climate catastrophe by coming together and putting community first. The show looks at Deaf identity, relationships and our impact on the environment — all through a fast-paced, light-hearted and quirky lens.

Mary-Jayne said, “I am thrilled to receive the funding from the Arts Council for EVA. I’m so honoured and excited to be able to develop my play.”

We’re incredibly proud to be a producing partner on this project, which is also supported by Birmingham Rep, Birmingham Hippodrome and Warwick Arts Centre seed funding scheme ‘Made in the Midlands’.

🎟️ On Thursday 5 February you can watch a work-in-progress extract from the play as part of a ‘Made in the Midlands’ Scratch Night at Warwick Arts Centre. Click here to book your ticket: warwickartscentre.co.uk/whats-on/qKI-made-in-the-midlands/
