Thank you to everybody who saw We Are Warriors in Manchester ✨

Earlier this month, We Are Warriors was part of Haphazard at Z Arts in Manchester. Almost entirely recycled, this stop on the tour used no fossil fuels - part of In Between Time’s ongoing commitment to developing and practicing sustainable models of touring artwork 🌍

Here’s what some of our younger audience members had to say:

“I’ve been to the sky”
“Twinkle twinkle little star”
“I love love love love love love love love love love love it”

Presented by Word of Warning and Z Arts for Haphazard

We Are Warriors is touring the UK, Europe and Australia throughout 2026–27. To date with each stop on the tour, sign up to our mailing list - link in bio 🔗

🎓 IBT ALUMNI: Florentina Holzinger

In 2015, IBT premiered the work of Florentina Holzinger in the UK, when she performed ‘Keine Applaus Fur Schiesse’ alongside collaborator Vincent Riebeek at IBT15

Today, Holzinger is internationally renowned for her boundary-pushing practice combining dance, performance, opera and theatre, most recently presenting SEAWORLD VENICE in the Austrian Pavillion at the 60th Venice Biennale

‘Underwater amusement park, sewage treatment plant, and sacred building all in one, SEAWORLD VENICE complicates the dualisms of purity and pollution, sin and expiation, making visible the waste that is kept out of sight yet remains constantly present. Turning visitors’ bodily fluids—our very own organic rubbish—into living quarters for performers inhabiting the Austrian Pavilion, this seaworld takes the form of a machinic organism in which action and its consequence on the body are continuously negotiated.’

IBT is proud to be working with long-term collaborator Vivian Chinasa Ezugha to develop Glossolalia, a participatory sound and performance project 🎉

This month, In Between Time is supporting Glossolalia through its Artist Co-Lab programme, working alongside Vivian Chinasa Ezugha in residence at .arts.centre to develop the project’s participatory methodology, audience engagement and future touring potential.

Glossolalia—speaking in tongues—is explored in this work as a sonic, spiritual and performative practice. Through vocal improvisation, collective sound-making and embodied listening, the project creates spaces where language moves beyond fixed meaning into rhythm, emotion and shared experience.

Blending live participation, vocal experimentation and immersive listening environments, Glossolalia invites audiences to encounter voice as a site of memory, transformation and connection.

Brighton Festival was a fantastic start to the We Are Warriors tour ✨

Thank you to the thousands of you who visited the installation in Cab Road Tunnel. It was a fantastic home for two weeks in May, and we’re now working to bring We Are Warriors to a space near you.

Keep an eye out for the next stop on the tour which we’ll be announcing in the coming weeks 📍

“There is also something refreshing about an installation that allows space for contemplation without demanding constant stimulation. In an era of immersive events often designed primarily as Instagram backdrops, We Are Warriors feels emotionally sincere. Several audience comments displayed nearby mention unexpectedly crying, and it is easy to understand why. The work taps into exhaustion, grief, resilience and tenderness all at once.”

Thank you to Nicola Benge for a glowing review of We Are Warriors ⭐️

“Beautifully curated and emotionally intelligent, We Are Warriors turns a forgotten tunnel beneath Brighton Station into a place of reflection, solidarity and quiet resistance. It is one of the standout installations of Brighton Festival 2026.”

“There is something profoundly moving about hearing intimate voices filling a tunnel historically associated with transit, industry and anonymity. … This installation understands that public space is never neutral, particularly after dark, and quietly asks who gets to feel safe, visible and heard in an increasingly combative climate.”

We Are Warriors is open for one more day in Brighton’s Cab Road Tunnel - book your place to see the installation tomorrow ✨

'We Are Warriors' is open in Brighton's Cab Road Tunnel until this Sunday 24 May! 💡

“I was blown away by it. I wasn’t sure what to expect… it’s this astonishing array of light. I had this sense of hope and grief. It was like going into a Catholic church and making an offering. It felt very profound and really beautiful.”
