Michael Weston King & Lou Dalgleish are outstanding songwriters and singers individually, who between them have worked with such diverse artists as Nick Cave, Bryan Ferry, The Brodsky Quartet, Steve Earle, Nils Lofgren, Ron Sexsmith, & Graham Parker, but together they create harmonious magic and are a formidable musical force.

They join us in The Hen & Chicken Studio on Thursday 1st October.

What a fantastic weekend North Street Sounds turned out to be.

We want to say a huge thank you to all the brilliant musicians who gave their time and talent to make this brand-new community event so special. And thank you to everyone who came along to listen, cheer on, and support Bristol’s grassroots musicians. Your support over the weekend meant more than just backing the artists on stage — it also showed your support for your North Street independents; what a community ❤️‍🔥

A big shout-out goes to Katie at Spirited and Mike at LUPE Bar - Bristol, who brought the venues together to give North Street a wonderful day filled with live music.

Rose's Pawn Shop are a 5-piece band with acoustic, folkie Americana roots and a rock n' roll vibe, and they're heading to Bristol.

For two decades, they have evolved their version of modern-day American roots music. It’s an anthemic sound that’s taken the group from their hometown of Los Angeles — where frontman Paul Givant formed the band as a bluegrass-inspired act, making room for p***y tempos and fiddle solos — to venues across the country, where their sound grew to encompass the sweep of rock & roll, the sonics of folk music, and the storytelling of country.

Gig Announcement 📣

We are thrilled to let you know that September Song, the latest collaboration between John Douglass and Steve Hogg, will be performing stripped-back versions from their new album ‘The Perfect View’, followed by a full album playback here at the Hen & Chicken in October.

They will also be reflecting on their 40-year musical partnership, signed to Atlantic Records, Kitchenware Records and EMI and performing songs from their vast back catalogue as alumni of Bristol favourites Augustine, Kid Sinister and Wushcatte.

With live appearances rare in recent years, this promises to be a special occasion.

Liverpool Sound and Vision has awarded acclaimed Australian songwriter Les Thomas's new album 8.5/10 and said:

"The recording of the album is one of sweet nostalgia wrapped in the security of unburdening connection."

Les Thomas brings his 2026 UK tour to Bristol for an intimate performance at the Hen & Chicken this July. He will be joined by the fabulous Anya Pailthorpe.
