Back for our first event of 2026! Returning to our spiritual home, Strange Brew, for an evening of live audio visual performances. Bean bags and seats at the ready, so get comfy, lean back, and zone in to the visuals and performers on stage.

Topping the bill are newly formed group, SUM. Bringing together Grove, t l k, BIPED, EJ:AKIN and O’Lenahan, they weave through layers of dubbed-out ambience, crunched drum machines and righteously charged vocals. Can we call them a supergroup? Joining them on visuals is Bristol based visual artist Aevi. A regular fixture at WetWare Aevi brings their blend of hyper-detailed fluid textures, clouds of colour and generated pseudo-ancient symbols. Fed through a blend of analog video processing units to grit, meld and mesh them together.

Up next is Storm Neech. A relative newcomer to WetWare and the Bristol gig scene, we’re big fans of their recent releases - big distorted textures deftly paired with acoustic instruments and found sound in nimble experimental electroacoustic compositions. FFO: Aho Ssan, KMRU, Tim Hecker. On visuals is Henry Rolls, a Bristol based visual artist with a focus on film collage. Close cropped clips shift and meld at near kaleidoscopic angles, hypnotic in their frenetic motion.

Rounding out the bill is WetWare resident Myr. They’ll be starting things off with a hazy blend of dubbed ambience, found sound collage and sparse warped percussion. And with the stars aligning, Tikoda makes a return to WetWare, back in Bristol and on visuals for one night only!

Line-up:
-> SUM + Aevi
-> Storm Neech + Henry Rolls
-> Myr + Tikoda

As an extra treat this Thursday we’re welcoming Minor Science back to WetWare and the Brew. We’re big fans of his Absent Friends project and thoroughly enjoyed the live set he did for us back in 2022. This time he’ll be joining on deck duties, playing tracks to open the event and in between each act. If you’re not familiar with his Absent Friends radio show residency on the Refuge Worldwide station it’s a strong recommend from us. Give it a listen to get an idea of the vibe and to sooth the midweek blues. He’ll be kicking things off from doors at 19:00.

WetWare’s back at Brew for another eve of live audio visual transmissions beamed straight into your eyeballs and eardrums! This’ll be a seated show, with bean bags at the ready, giving everyone a full view of the projections and performers on stage.

For this event Ben Pest’s making a return to WetWare, bringing his hardware live set chops well honed from recent gigs in Berlin and Barcelona. He’ll be teaming up with WetWare regular Myr, improvising with and exploring sounds from the club chopped, stretched and mangled into new forms. Joining them on the visuals is Alfie Dwyer (Ze.Zima). Alfie’s blend of HD modelled 3D figures and real-world scenes, distorted and warped into hallucinatory mind-bending territories, have been seen at shows with Aphex Twin, Flying Lotus and Eric Andre.

Up next on the bill we’re excited to welcome Mary Hurrell to Brew for her first live set in Bristol. As an artist, vocalist and composer working between experimental music and performance. Mary creates physical and emotional soundscapes using her voice as an instrument and material. Layering that with electronic textures, heavy beats and distorted field recordings. Joining her on the visuals is Bristol based visual artist Aevi. A regular fixture at WetWare Aevi brings his blend of hyper-detailed fluid textures, clouds of colour and generated pseudo-ancient symbols. Fed through a blend of analog video processing units to grit, meld and mesh them together.

Also at this event Balouu’s making his WetWare and Brew live set debut. A resident on Noods Radio, with tracks released on local label of legend Pressure Dome and Vancouver’s Weirdos Inc. Records, we’re excited to see what patterns he’s got loaded up on the machines. PuttyRubber returns to join him on visual duties. Summoning her kaleidoscopic swirling patterns of intense colour through a hybrid blend of feedback loops created with cameras and old CRT monitors effected and tamed with digital visual tech.

Tickets up on Headfirst now! Link in bio.

Closing out the night this Saturday at Dareshack are A.Whales and Tikoda! Both AV artists in their own right, for this performance A.Whales will be focusing on the visuals while Tikoda brings the sonics. You can check A.Whales profile for a link to their recent Greater Than EP too! They’ll be on just after 11pm, and as the last act they’ve been given license to unleash the big kick drums 😈 Tickets on Headfirst: https://hdfst.uk/E88717

We’re headed back to Dareshack for a night of live immersive audio visual performances!

Building on from the show back in December we'll be experimenting with translucent mesh projection surfaces, lights reacting to the audio, an ‘in the round’ stage setup, and immersive spatial audio drifting and swirling around the room.

Dareshack’s the first space of its kind in the UK to have a d&b audiotechnik 360 soundscape system. It was great trying it out for the first time at the last gig. We can’t wait to be back exploring the creative opportunities for artists, and new experiences for audiences, with surround sound systems at gigs.

On the night we’ve got an eclectic line-up of WetWare regulars, alongside fresh faces Tikoda and A.Wales!

Expect a mix of audio drones, tones, textures, soundscapes and rhythms with visual shapes, spaces and swathes of colour.

Line-up:
-> Aevi & Lifeisfeedback
-> A.Whales & Tikoda
-> Moral Fibre & PuttyRubber
-> Myr & thomas R

Thanks to everyone that came out to a WetWare event last year! And thanks to all the performers we had along the way. 🖤🎛️📡

We’ve been hibernating over winter, but just over a year since the first show, and rousing with spring, this year’s nascent event series is coming together.

Our first event of the year is on Saturday 29th April with full announcement coming tomorrow!

For now here’s some snaps from WetWare 4 at Dareshack back in December.
