Back from a wonderful weekend Cowslip Workshops where the amazing Deena Beverley inspired us to create a very personal bobbin diary. Deena is brilliant - generous with her teaching, supplies and general creativity! I went with my lovely friend , bumped into a previous retreat colleague Trina Covill just enjoying a wander around, and met lots of fabulous creative women. Reminisced about the lovely Louise Gardiner Embroidery with my new friend indulged in a spot of crafty shopping, a pink rhubarb gin, and made another new friend in Maisie the dog. She wanted to come home with me! And that gorgeous fur ball at the end is Ruby. Not nearly as friendly as my own Ruby obviously! What an absolute treat!

Yesterday was the start of a new exciting course! 6 brave souls have joined me in Trust the Process, a 5 class, 2 month course, leading… where?! That’s the point, we don’t know. Over the span of two months we will each work on a piece, then pass it on to one of our class mates. By the end we will all have worked on every piece once, and own something very special! Although this has been in my head for a couple of years, it took finding the right people and reading Deena Beverley and Cas Holmes book Soulful Stitching to give me the confidence to try it on for size. We have an autumn colour palette (thanks to Kaffe Fassett Studio fabrics) and theme, Bristol, and that’s about it! I choose a long thin shape so as not to overwhelm us, but also so that we can hang them together for our final reveal in December.

Thanks to my wonderful students for their belief in me, the process and each other!
