It's been a funny old week of nursing fairground ride wounds (curse you helter-skelter) on top of some kind of weird non covid lurgy and all plans cancelled 🙄

BUT nice things I have been able to do as I lie in my sick bed:

- wallow totally uninterrupted in my malaise as the kids are away

- marvel at my cat's ability to sleep ALL day

- watch the beating rain against my window as I snuggle under a blanket

- be inspired and entertained by watching the Fantastic Fungi film on Netflix

- make a donation from selling my Earthkind postcards to 🌳 thank you

So pretty good for a Friday really! May treat myself to a hot toddy later and see what freezer food I can dig out! Planning on watching a feel good film - any suggestions?

Something along the lines of acknowledging England's win last night and anticipating tired hungover heads today resulting in quiet streets and then cleverly linking to my painting of a Loch which is also quiet and still.
😅

Cos a girls gotta hustle, these paintings won't sell themselves...

Expecting no one to see/read this as you are sensibly still asleep in bed and I am stupidly not as I have children.

This is a glicee print on sustainable bamboo paper. I made a nature's alphabet, it took me a such a long time to complete but was such a joy to work on. Our world is so beautiful.

AMAZING and HISTORIC news today:

The People Vs. Shell

Over 17,000 individuals and Friends of the Earth took to court in the Netherlands demanding Shell to reduce its Co2 emissions by 45% by 2030.

Shell pollutes 9 X as much Co2 as the rest of the Netherlands put together. Shell have known since 1960 that continuing to use oil and gas will create global warming and lead to a climate crisis but they've done nothing to stop it.

This court case was the first of its kind ordering a polluting corporation to take responsibility for its part in the climate crisis.

And the good, great, bloody AMAZING NEWS???

The People won 👍🏻🙌🏻 🥳 💚 💚 💚

This is just a start... and are planning something similar in the UK.....🤞🏻

Today has not gone as plan as things were cancelled due to the rain plus I am still ill- have this crazy cold which I just can't seem to shake!

But anyways it was still a good day as I painted more native tree leaves 🍃 I keep thinking I've nearly finished but then discover more! I learnt 3 new native British trees today - Whitebeam, Hornbeam and Spindle - which is the delicate little leaf in the middle. It feels incredible that I'm almost 40 years old and don't know all the names of trees I've grown up with.

Going to try and finish tonight if possible as I am dying to put all these sketches together, add colour and make something beautiful 🤞🏻 I enjoy this slow process of making but am getting a but twitchy now and want to get on to the next stage! 🌲🌿🌳

How's your Monday been? I hear the sun is returning soon...I can't almost remember what that's like! ☀️🌤🌥🌦🌧⛈

T U E S D A Y...so I have plum and pear tree leaves to go. Is a fig tree native to the Bristish Isles? Need to look it up. Also think I must have missed a fir tree too 🌲 the one one that makes those little green ball seeds, can't think of its name but can remember it smell from my childhood climbing and making dens under them 💚
