The Chew Valley Big Sing

The Chew Valley Big Sing An annual day-long event for individual singers and local choirs to celebrate choral singing Just come and enjoy! Tea and cake provided.

The Chew Valley Big Sing is an all-day event for individual singers and local choirs to celebrate choral singing. The day will be led by David Ogden, a well-known professional conductor. Together we will be learning a selection of pieces to suit all tastes, from Handel (Hallelujah Chorus) to Duke Ellington (It don’t mean a thing if it ain't got that swing), and plenty more besides. No knowledge of

the pieces is required, nor experience of singing as a group. The majority of the day will be working on the pieces with David as a large group but there will also be an opportunity to hear some local choirs perform so that you can see what is happening chorally in the Chew Valley. Please bring a packed lunch to enjoy, hopefully in the sun!

Hello everyone! We are The Chew Valley Big Sing! We are really looking forward to our first annual get together which is taking place on 30th September 2023 at Chew Valley School.

The idea is to get together anyone who is keen on singing and spend a day going through some fun group singing learning from a well-known conductor and also seeing what is available in the Chew Valley for singers when the Big Sing isn't happening.

This year The Chew Valley Big Sing is being led by David Ogden of Bristol fame.

Follow this group to find out more about what is going on at this year's Chew Valley Big Sing.
