We are so stoked (lol) for one of our Badgers to have been picked up by Quest.

We picked Arman up because his communication and enthusiasm on and off the field elevated our performance at our tryouts last year.

When Arman let us know he was attending tryouts because he wanted to train more and get back to Elite, we wished him all the best and kept his spot open in case it didn't work out. Badgers is a low commitment team for people who want to play competitive paintball.

Arman - thanks for a great season, we're excited to see you perform in Elite and we'd have you back if you decide to go casual again.

With Arman moving on, Jordan leaving the game and some of our player unsure on 2022 commitment level we are looking for more players. Badgers is the team for you if you're either; an Elite experienced player who wants to take a step back in commitment and play for fun, or an upcoming player who is training with an Elite team but need some more tournament experience before getting that spot.

We need commitment to the events and for you to attend a single training session before each.

DM the page or Luke Williams if you're interested!

So 2021 is coming to a close. We didn’t get any podiums, but we also never dropped into a relegation fight. Quest had ups and downs, on the field and off the field, with no thanks to COVID causing commitment difficulties.

As a result we’ve looked to bolster the squad with a number of additions, in no particular order (actually youngest to oldest), here’s our new pickups;

JOSH BLACKLEDGE - Formerly of now expired team Militia (Division 3), Josh was THE standout player and practically accounted for 99% of Militia’s point wins. We look forward to pushing Josh on the bag side with his fellow Loiner, Henry.

ARMAN KHAN - Arman is a well experienced elite player, previously of Top Cats, Samurai and lately Bristol Badgers. The obvious trait Arman brings is immense height and a solid lane off the break. Coming across as a top guy and having been on Quest’s radar for some time, we’re glad he’s joined to add further depth into our back line.

LUKE VILES - Mr Banana Bus / King of the Monarchs, Luke helps average out the team height, and also provides some good chat. In seriousness, he’s got decent gun skills and is mad keen to improve himself and the team.

AIDAN BALL - Joke, got you though Ainsley. (PS. Aidan drop Milne a DM if you’re still interested)

Many thanks to our sponsors for the continued support. We can’t wait to get out there again and prove ourselves in a normalised season!

PROVISIONAL TRYOUT DATES - LIMITED SPACES

Are you an Elite / D1 experienced player? Do you love paintball but no longer have the time to grind every weekend? Want to train before CPPS before showing up to play seriously?

Then we're probably the team for you!

We're provisionally looking at tryouts on SUNDAY 4th APRIL at CPPS, but if that date doesn't work please get in touch anyway.

Is a badger a binman? How do we get more people playing tournament paintball? How do you improve as a team? How much does equipment impact your game? Should we be talking more about the mental and tactical aspect of the game?

Tune in to hear Luke discuss (or rant) about all these topics.

In this episode Luke and I talked about the '5 pillars' or 5 key points of improving at tournament paintball as well as discussing the new rebranding of his team from the Bristol Badgers to the Bristol Bin men.

We are on the lookout for more Badgers to join our cete.

Our values are that we're family-first and sustainably competitve. So we don't play and train loads but when we do we're professional and don't f**k around.

We're basically like the Sandbaggers but we're a bit less experienced and so we train a bit more.

Because of this, we're looking for players that have already cut their teeth in D1 or Elite who can join us and compete without much guidance. A perfect opportunity for someone who wants to carry on playing competitively but can't keep up with the grind due to real life commitments.

Alternatively, this may be a good opportunity for an up and coming player who is training a lot independently, but needs more experience as a stepping stone.

We will be running a training session, probably at CPPS in order to try some players out, but we're interested to hear from anyone who fits the above bill!

Paul Richards was a paintball legend.

In his brilliant blog View from the Deadbox, he talked a lot about the state of the game at the time, the teams and the politics... but the real gold is in his more tactical & conceptual work. I've been paining over a post about the OODA loop, only to find that Paul wrote 3 better ones over 5 years ago!:

We're not officially an Eclipse team, so we can shoot anything we want, but we all individually choose to shoot Eclipse because they're reliably high performing.

Not to mention the new jerseys for round 3 - so you can add Division 2 champions to the list!
