The deadline to apply is February 20th 2022, with submissions required by April 3rd ready for launch in June (though if you can get in touch earlier that will help me a lot!)

Hey all! As you've probably noticed this page has had a bit of an overhaul, I wanted to give the project a name that better reflects the values behind it and what I hope it will achieve. So welcome to Q***r Art Punks! And please check out the website below for more info.

I'm going to start by creating a QAP zine, so stand by for more info and how to submit

Unfortunately due to personal reasons I'm going to have to delay the launch of the Museum of Q***r Arts.

I had hoped to start planning it in the next few months and have the first pop up space in Autumn 2022, but I've just found out I'll have to start the second year of my MA from scratch rather than picking up where I left off when I deferred last year, meaning I won't have the time to plan it until I've finished.

I'm gutted to have to put it on hold but looking forward to when I'll be able to focus on it 100% and make something fantastic and long lasting!

Lots of q***r love to you all,

Chris

An update on progress:

I've been busy working behind the scenes working out a business plan and building a website. I'm hoping to launch it in the next couple of weeks along with some very exciting announcements, so stay tuned!

Much q***r love to you all,
Chris

Art has always been a powerful way for marginalised people to counter the narratives created by authorities and ruling institutions. Whilst reading about the recent incidences of police brutality against peaceful protestors here in Bristol we came upon this fantastic book APB: Artists against Police Brutality. It was written in the US six years ago but unfortunately it seems the broader message transcends time and space.

Solidarity with all those protesting the Police and Crime bill in Bristol and across the country

This stunning and unflinching comics anthology should be required reading.

Check out the manifesto below to find out more about the project to create a space in Bristol for Q***r/LGBTQIA+ art, culture, history and knowledge. While we're hoping to find a permanent home in the future, our plan is to start by creating pop up galleries with the first being planned for Autumn 2022. We'd love to hear from anyone able to offer help or support, particularly those who have organised these kinds of spaces before and can give us the benefit of their experience!

This is an idea I’ve been working on for a while, and in the last few months I’ve been talking with some friends about making it happen…
