This island has been Prospero’s prison for twelve years.

Her studies complete, and the island declared her own, she is ready to take revenge against those who banished her. She watches from the cliff tops as they are miraculously gathered. But life on this island prison has raised questions: is there something hiding at the frayed edge of this world? Will this strange something disrupt her plans?

Five years and nine productions after their first staging of ‘The Tempest’, award-nominated theatre company Brave Mirror return with a new version of their maiden show, and Shakespeare’s final masterpiece. Performed at The Cockpit in April, the show is a key moment of growth for the company, playing to their largest audiences yet in one of London’s most established venues for emerging artists and fringe creatives.

As we’re now within two months of our 10th show - we wanted to look back to the first. We’ve come a long way since the tunnels of an old bristolian police station but the apetite to create hasn’t changed.

As we begin the process of revisiting and completley reimaging the same text that started our journey we can’t help but be excited.

LADY’S FINGERS

Three young girls. Three young women? Three young LADIES try to navigate the working world. When presented with a gift, they’re forced to address that they don’t actually know what to do next.

Following its sold out 2024 run, Lady’s Fingers returns. Through clown, choreography and comedy, Lady’s Fingers explores how stepping into the corporate world as a young woman often requires a carefully crafted performance.

Devised by Penny Drop Productions and produced by Standing Ovation Award nominated company Brave Mirror Productions, Lady’s Fingers finds the joy and absurdity in reexamining our personal and professional relationships.

‘Awake, dear heart, awake’

And so the journey begins! Last week we were joined by some incredible creatives for a research and development day for ‘The Tempest: This Island’. Hearing this version of the script out loud for the first time was incredibly exciting and we can’t wait to keep developing and creating this show.

A huge thank you to those that participated and being so generous with their ideas and skills. It’s always such a privilege to work with other theatre-makers.

INTRODUCING FRANK BERTOLETTI, joining the cast for A Scratch Night with Brave Mirror. And we couldn’t be more excited to introduce this act.

is an ‘ethereal’ and darkly glamourous chanteur, musical theatre actor, and trained Clown with credits including Ronnie Scotts and The Phoenix Arts Club. His references span all from Jamie Hewlett illustrations to Divine music videos, and a chase once described him as “”extremely attractive in a way I genuinely struggle to explain when I explain my sexuality””. Well if that doesn’t entice.....

You know when you p*e a little when you laugh? Introducing....NIPSLIP.

Joining our roster are a comedy duo that aren’t a stranger to a scratch night themselves. is the chaotic brain child of Tallula White and Dulcie Godfrey. The pair met at University, when Dulcie commented on Tallula’s giant ankles, and thought they were hilarious. From then, it was love. They spent lockdown in their student flat, drinking cheap wine and writing stupid sketches for stage and screen. Somehow, this led to over 900,000 likes and millions of views on social media.
