Wasn't planning to sketch Majestic Cafe this morning, we went to try the legendary coffee & pastel de nata. They didn't disappoint. Neither did the incredible interior, lovely staff and customers. Luckily Marcus never leaves home without a book, so we strung 2 coffees out until my page was full. A great start to the day.

15 minute sketches from life, thanks to the wonderful Giuliana Terran who runs Bristol Portrait Club Arnolfini . Models sit back to back, so sometimes (depending on chair positions, which change between poses) as here, you can get 2 people in the drawing, and explore the relationship between the two figures

Apologies to the person who was modelling facing me, but I couldn't not draw this person's wonderful twisting pose, high bun and cornrows 🖤

As we are reaching the end of the school holidays, Giuliana Terran 's children came. This is Obi who sat brilliantly, with his mum 💚 behind him. And he did some fantastic sketches - a chip off the old block.

My drawing neighbour, new to the group, we had a v interesting chat in the break about using AI to generate code.

I use Substack for my journal (blog) and newsletter. Sadly unlike MailChimp, Substack newsletters can't merge people's names in, which feels a but blunt. But on the upside they sit on a subdomain of my website, so reading there counts as traffic for SEO 🤞🏻 . I bought a Canva Pro licence to make the Dungscape posters, and wasted 2 hours yesterday animating these carousel slides, only to find the animations don't download properly, and are also lost when the post is scheduled in Meta Business Suite. Every platform has its quirks. Anyway, tmi, enjoy the animations, they're quite annoying but after all this effort I'm posting them regardless 🤓
