We are absolutely delighted to have Vasco Gaiolas Pinto from the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art returning to Historic Equitation on October 2nd, 3rd, 4th October 2026. Vasco is a specialist in classical in-hand work and airs above the ground, with extensive experience teaching riding at every level. He can help riders build correct, sympathetic foundations through to developing more advanced movements. This is a weekend not to be missed. Please book tickets at www.bookwhen.com/historicequitation . All riding tickets include a full day’s auditing with lunch and refreshments. Spectator tickets also available.

A different kind of day at work yesterday when we attended the commemoration of Ashura as a profound day of mourning, marking the martyrdom of Imam Husayn (the Prophet's grandson) at the Battle of Karbala.

In the context of Ashura, the horse represents deep loyalty and sacrifice. It symbolizes Zuljanah, the beloved battle steed of Imam Hussain during the Battle of Karbala.

It was an emotional and insightful day. Many thanks to Lisa Dixon for making the journey to Newham with us!
