Dunk’d is an exhibition consisting of artistic interpretations revolved around experiences of drinking culture, this could be in the form of poetry, performance, film, painting, etcetera. Alcohol plays a key representative in British culture, if you embrace it with slurred pride or not, we have all experienced its unpredictable wrath! Historically, alcohol has been an essential commodity that has
bought communities together through hardship, although simultaneously normalised a culture of mindless alcoholism. The effects can take many forms and is perceived in many lights; if it is a glorious elixir with magical healing powers or the most efficient culprit to unproductively and regret, it has the tendency to either make life spectacular or to ruin it in one night! It is our intention to make this exhibition as diverse as possible, due to space restrictions, this is a submission based exhibition, all of which must be sent to [email protected] or message any of the founders: Louise Marianne, Ki Ya, Cash Wood, Ernesta Shimkute. It will be held for the duration of Brighton Fringe Festival (3-4 weeks) at Yum Yum Ninja cocktail bar in the south lanes. On the opening night there will be live music and (of course) plenty of booze! Thank you and good luck!
