Duke of York's Picturehouse The Duke of York's cinema is the nation's oldest running cinema and a beloved Brighton landmark.

A Grade-II listed building adorned by a pair of iconic B&W-striped can-can legs. The Duke of York's Picturehouse is the UK's oldest operating cinema, part of the Picturehouse family of cinemas. A Grade II listed building, it's the best cinema in Brighton, showing the greatest films from all over the world.

Book Club returns to Duke of York’s this October with a live broadcast of best-selling author Audrey Niffenegger in conversation to celebrate the release of her new novel, Life Out Of Order - the long-awaited sequel to her acclaimed debut, The Time Traveler’s Wife - broadcast live from Picturehouse Central.

Taking place on 29th October, we will also have copies of the book available for purchase.

This coming month there’s not one, not two but THREE After Dark movies to enjoy! Spooky season is here! Starting with Saturday 3rd October we have The Faculty at 11pm 👽 on 17th October we have a mystery horror, decided by our U-25 members, will it be a trick or a treat? 🎃 and on the big Halloween night 31st October we have a Rocky Horror Picture Show party kicking off at 10pm 🫦 Come dressed for festivities!!
