I'm excited to share that I applied to be on The Great Pottery Throwdown.

Unfortunately, while I got through a few stages of application and audition, I didn't quite make it this year. I've only been potting for just over a year, so the fact I made it that far is incredible. If (when) I reapply in the future, I'm super excited to see the progress I will have made when I have another year of experience.

Today I find myself feeling grateful to my beloved partner, loved ones, friends, and family for all their continued support in my pottery journey. They have helped to crowdfund equipment, inspire ideas, and generally be a constant source of cheerleading for me.

Pottery brings me peace, it lets me recalibrate and process, helps me to regulate myself. It's given me something to aim at, a community, and a wonderful way of combing my artistic and scientific background that lets me express myself when the AuDHD makes it hard.

If you get the chance to play with clay, give it a go! It's an incredible material and sometimes you just need to get covered in mud and have a laugh and fail at a pot to feel a bit better. That's what my life is really - messy, prone to collapsing, but sometimes incredibly satisfying and full of moments worth preserving forever.

And the best thing? Failing isn't even failing in pottery - if it's unfired, you can recycle and start again. If it's bisque'd, you can turn it into grog or something for sintering in, and if it's glazed, you can tumble it, make a mosaic, or just use it as a studio pot.

Unless you melt a pot onto a kiln shelf, or ruin a kiln - I mean... you can sand down and re-wash a shelf, rebuild the kiln with new bricks or turn it into a raku kiln but still... those things require a bit more effort. Best to avoid that lol.

Anyway. This is beginning to read like an AI LinkdIn post so TLDR: Thank you for all your continued love and support
