My students explored Keith Haring this week and then made some very dynamic figures inspired by his work. Excellent fun and great starting point for a project turning these into armatures for stop motion animation in the weeks to come…

I’ve been busy designing a range of Brighton-themed Christmas decorations in a Nordic Folk Art style. Really looking forward to making these up and having them on sale for the artistsopenhouses winter festival! I feel like I should have a set of 5 though - any suggestions on what my final iconic image should be??

New studio assistant and a new artwork.

The Assistant: Cosmonaut Shucksmith (Cosmo). 9.5 weeks old. Medium: teeth and fluff. Pompom - models own. Still learning the role.

A new batch of medieval-style monoprints, hand-printed and finished in all their imperfect, chaotic, non-AI glory. Making each print unique is a very flawed business model, especially when I sell them for a bargainous £20. But I have a lot of fun carving them, printing them and thinking up the wording for each monoprint, and I love that people who see them and really ‘get’ them can take them home. 🤷 I guess everybody wins.

I’m excited to announce that I’ll be exhibiting at the Collective Books’ Fair in Eastbourne on 12 September. It’s a day of small presses, zine makers, artists and collectives — a proper mix of people making interesting things from devonshirecollective!

I’ll have:
• The Disability Deck
• Zines
• Cyanotype prints
• Medieval monoprints
