Our new season begins on Sunday 27 September with a thrilling afternoon of live music.

We’ll be joined by two brilliant young soloists, pianist Khrystyna Mykhailichenko and violinist Emily Trubshaw, for a programme spanning Gershwin’s jazzy Cuban Overture, Piazzolla’s Primavera Porteña and Rachmaninoff’s dazzling Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, before Janáček’s Sinfonietta brings the concert to a blazing, brassy finale.

Join the Listening Club! 🎶

Ahead of each of our concerts this season, Joanna MacGregor will be taking a deeper dive into the music, giving you a new way to listen before hearing it live.

With visual examples and musical excerpts, The Listening Club is a series of informal, one-hour talks exploring the composers’ intentions, social context and musical motifs to listen out for.

In just one month, we're launching Brighton Spring! 🌱🎻

Meet the newest addition to the Brighton Philharmonic family: Brighton Spring, a dynamic new ensemble of exceptional young professional musicians, bringing fresh energy, bold ideas and outstanding performances to audiences across Sussex.

Join us on 17 September for our launch concert at Brighton College, where Brighton Spring is joined by acclaimed accordionist Alise Siliņa for a vibrant programme featuring music by Bach, Debussy, Piazzolla, Steve Reich and more.

Born from the success of BPO's Spring Forwards mentoring scheme, Brighton Spring is all about championing emerging talent, sharing inspiring chamber music, and connecting with communities through concerts, workshops and collaborations.

Only a few days to go until our Hymnus Paradisi concert with Brighton Festival Chorus on 18 July!

🎻 Our Principal Viola, Caroline Harrison, will be taking the solo in Herbert Howell's moving Elegy for Viola – hear why the work is so moving for her.

The programme also features music by Vaughan Williams, Walton, Britten and Howells, culminating in the powerful Hymnus Paradisi.

Set in the beautiful surroundings of All Saints Church, Hove, this promises to be an unforgettable evening of music that speaks to the heart, offering solace, hope and moments of extraordinary beauty.
