Starting off Pride Month strong with some sapphic longing!
I will be attempting to post LGBTQIA+ art (dnd related, fanart, my own etc…) all June!

This is a flash back of my dnd character Hera (a raised religious soldier and heir) and her ex girlfriend Robyn (a rising performer and activist) - a couple who loved through their differences until everything went too far… the other players in my group are hoping one day they will reconcile. Who knows?

For now Ill just make cute art of them to make myself feel better!
The pose was inspired by a photoshoot I saw of Katy Obrien and Kirsten Stewart! Awesome people.

I have stopped commissions temporarily so I can focus on honing my skills and working on more traditional pieces! However, to scratch the character design itch, I have been creating fan art for my fiance’s homebrew dungeons and dragons campaign, inspired by the mid-episode character cards of his fave anime Full Metal Alchemist!

Meet Adam Darkmoore - Aka: A polymorphed three headed dragon and the manifestation of the sin Greed.
There was a fantastic scene when we was first revealed to us fully - his warlock had tried to break their contract and take control of him, herself. This in turn revealed her true nature to her nephew (one of the players) who was also (at the time unknowingly) trapped in this arrangement too)… this triggered a tense battle of will between them both before Greed ultimately was about to win before being interrupted by the player character breaking up the fight with a necklace of fireballs. *just dnd things*😂

The whole time there was these spectral chains connecting them all and it heavily inspired this piece, especially after I found a brilliant reference image of the kubrick style stare!

This is another faveourite within our group, and we have only recently defeated this madman (we think)…

The Fragmented Freedom Fighter

One of the best ones I have done so far is the NPC “The Door”. We do not know his true name. A forcefully emancipated royal stripped of his purpose and evolved into an extremist revolutionary within a war torn country. A really fun take on earth genasi, due to the disconnect from his original purpose, it takes tonnes of straps and belts to physically hold himself together (these are seen thrown across the stone throne in this drawing for cool character design show off purposes!)

Swimming lotus

After struggling for a while with a couple concepts, i was relieved with how fun this one was to make.
This peice is one that’s fun to look at from different distances. From afar the shadows cause it to become almost 3D feeling, as if you can feel the depth.
But up close you can see the very delicate hatching with different colours across the leaves which were a joy to do as im usually so heavy handed!

Also I have a question: shall I sell these as a set, once their done? Or individually? I’d love to know what you would prefer.

Flourishing in spite

A calm and warm scene for number 3 of my gouache nature studies.
This one was alot of trial, error and layering in comparison to the smooth sailing of my first two. But thats okay! As this is what this is for.. learning something fresh.
I was enamoured with the striking purples, blues and greens of these cacti - as well as how much they populate despite what they are.

This was a little removed from the close ups I was doing which may have been part of my struggle, but im comfortable with the result in the end. And it looks nice next to the others!

The Coral Weave.

The second attempt in my series of nature studies. I was entranced by the complimentary colours of blue and orange… and the glow of both the light through the water, as well as the hues of the coral.

This is so different from what I usually paint, i thoroughly enjoyed the process.

Trying out some new things.
After experiencing - i wanna get back into creating more physical works. I’ll always be oil painting and ive been trying new techniques with underpainting and glazing lately! But I’ve wanted to delve into for a while now and have been inspired by many artists I see on here. So i grabbed some cheap ones and have been giving it a shot, especially after finding out does watercolour papers on them.

Here’s my first try! Im thinking of doing a series to also break away from my constant portraits.
Its been so freeing so far.
