HAPPY MARTHA CASEY DAY!!!

If you’ve been coming to boast in Show for a while now you’ll know that today is a very special day. Back when we first started our Brighton shows a plucky young comic named… um I think it was Harry Thomlinson or something? Thomas Harrison! That was it. Thomas went to incredible lengths in his battle and got a national day of celebration named after his opponent, Martha Casey. Today is that day. Happy Martha Casey Day everyone.

PS. Some exciting news about our next show at Brighton Komedia on the 17th June coming very soon.

We’re continuing to count down the days till the next Boast in Show and bringing you more sweet, sweet Boast in Show moments ✨

To that end, here’s one of the most sultry gentlemen ever to win the East Grinstead Sultry Gentleman of the Year Award. It’s only bloomin’ Harrison Thomas 🎭

Harrison first crossed paths with beloved host and creator Carl Carzana in 2001, when Carl was manager of a cruise ship. Carl booked Harrison for his East Grinstead renowned mime act/sultry good looks. Harrison would perform his mime show every day at 1pm without fail. However, unfortunately, Carl had to keep docking Harrison’s wages because he wouldn’t stop telling the audience what he was miming 😂

Anyways, Harrison now works at Boast in Show as the Boast Coach, coaching our incredible acts in the ways of the boast. It’s hard, thankless work, and we thank him for it 🙏

We’re continuing to count down the days till the next Boast in Show and bringing you more sweet, sweet Boast in Show moments. 🎭

Here’s one such moment from some super special secret filming we were conducting recently at our new home, Brighton Komedia. Doesn’t the Boast in Show team look cool? We’re like cops in a cool 70s TV show. There’s Carl and Dawn, the maverick crime fighting duo like Starsky and Hutch. There’s Jim Broadbean, the curmudgeonly chief who’s had it up to here with our unorthodox methods and “not playing things by the book”. There’s Stepdad Patrice, the wise old , ex con who helps us out when we’re not making any progress on a case. And The Bad Vibes Monsters Martin Swarvet and Erol Yadirtylaundry, the street punks we shake down for info whenever we need info. I’d watch it. 😏

Speaking of, here’s a sweet little piccie from our first ever Brighton show featuring the man himself Carl Carzana and My Son Stephen. This is such a blast from the past, My Son Stephen isn’t even My Son Stephen yet, he’s some sort of angel, Cupid to be exact. 😇 Makes sense though, as My Son Stephen is the best thing to ever happen to host and creator Carl Carzana that he’s like an angel to him in any case, as long as he doesn’t try to upstage Carl or steal the limelight from him in any way, shape, or form.
