So proud to see my favourite potter in the Royal Academy summer exhibition! Dan was selected to exhibit and his coming out letter turned ceramic artefact really stands out on show. He is if you want to click over to see more.

We had the gallery all to ourselves this morning to look around and it’s so wonderful to see such a diverse range of Art. Art with a capital A because being in the RA is a really big deal! It’s the longest running exhibition and each year it gives you a taste of what the art world is doing.

I was thrilled to see so much clay and pottery pieces and we both fangirled when we bumped into William Cobbing .cobbing

Our home has become enveloped by our love of pottery and it fills me with huge pride and joy that Dan is creating these important pieces in a way that takes BIG subjects and creates objects for us to make our interiors more meaningful and personal. He has a new website now too!

Let’s try something? The crafting community is truly something special and sharing what brings us joy is at the heart of why we’re here.
I believe that happiness multiplies when we pass it on. So I want to shine a light on the incredible makers, clayers, crafters, and creators doing beautiful things. For them to be seen and for us to find more joyful people to fill our timelines with.

If you know someone creative (including yourself!)

Tag them below and tell me what they make.

I’ll share to my stories because lifting each other up is what this community does best.

Let’s make social media feel social again.

Gloop glaze made easy! Weather you call yourself a potter or a ceramicist - glazing is hard. It can be the ruination of a great piece Or it can really bring it to life. This gloop from is a fantastic brush on glaze!

It brings me so much happiness as a potter because it’s so versatile and reliable. Formulated by the wonderful I have used it for years and now you can get it from

I’m sure we will be seeing it everywhere soon. What do you think or want to know about gloop?

Today is my shop update that’s been months in the making. But one follower has decided that I’m too deviant to tell you about all the interesting things I’ve made in clay and pottery. So should I stop?

Thank you to everyone who sticks with me even if Egg or Dan are in a post 🫢💖 I have listed lots of clay creations and pottery makes, some things you might have spotted at fairs or that I have posted about (which make me happy) They are all available online now.

This unfollowing message just made me feel sad (especially in Pride month) as it came from someone who had conversation therapy in their profile and wanted to tell me being unhappy and unloved is better than being yourself.

But I do believe happiness creates happiness so here is some of my pottery art and things I love! Made with my hands and my heart - my shop update is live and online 🌈❤️‍🩹

All aboard the Hello Kitty train! Surrounded by cute pink I wanted to do a little throw on my pink wheel too.

I’m obsessed with the world of Kawaii in Japan and cute being so mainstream. This train had everyone enjoying the themed carriages 💝💖😻

Have you used pottery “flux” glaze in your ceramics? Here’s when I discovered how to get the glaze to melt over my clay projects.

It’s a stoneware firing and here I’m trying it out over Mayco stroke and coat colours. I get mine from . Any questions just ask 💖

A Throwdown throwback from when we made these shapes to test Mayco Colors flux…. Available at Potclays Ltd.
Flux can give extra dimensions to a stoneware glaze that is melty, magical and almost molten. By using the flux over the super stable stroke and coat glazes we can see how it changes the block colour into sensational swirls as the flux melts and moves the glaze underneath. I have just added the flux on top of the glaze to start my exploration and I am already in LOVE. Flux comes in a light and dark option and you can use it to blend two glazes together too 🤯… I have lots of experimenting still to do with many more clay Maycos waiting for their Maycover. I

This was a risky throw! Using my Small wheel to throw bigger, the plan was an ancient style vase. With a tall, delicate foot thrown all in one go so there was no weak points in the clay.

The intense trimming really worked and I got the decorative foot I was after! I’ve put a picture in the comments to show how it look after I fired and decorated it 🏺🧡🤍

Microwave pottery quick tip - don’t let your clay form cool before it goes into reduction! 🔥🧡 the ceramic glaze will react at hotter temps so to get the rainbows watch how quickly I move this skill from the kiln into the reduction. It needs to be fast, you can actually see the glaze go copper before I cover it here.

So if you’re chasing rainbows then this is the best quick tip, you can then leave it to cool and flash some air in a few minutes later.

This vid hopefully goes with the rainbow raku part of my book “microwave pottery firing” so you can see in real time what I mean.
The glaze is copper penny from by .

Save this vid and try and be just as quick and I’m sure you will get rainbows every time.

Rainbow raku rose or mini throws, however you do your pottery I would love to know if you have any clay questions? I’m thinking of doing a longer tutorial or maybe a live when the weather gets better. Something to match my book on microwave firing and I would love to know which you prefer or what you’d like me to cover ???
