Thrilled to be back The Brighton Academy (TBA Associates) with Jamie Mason 🇬🇧 Joel Benjamin O'Donoghue

Jamie Mason is a choreographer and creative director with credits spanning arena tours, major live events, and television productions. Most recently, he choreographed both Chaka Khan’s European Festival Tour and U.S. Arena Tour, creating performances for audiences across the world.

His choreography work includes high-profile events such as the BRIT Awards and Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball. As a performer, Jamie appeared in the West End production of Thriller Live, where he worked as both a featured dancer and Michael Jackson cover.

Throughout his career, Jamie has collaborated with some of the industry’s most respected creatives, including Parris Goebel and JaQuel Knight, bringing a wealth of experience, versatility, and artistic vision to every project.

Joel has worked as a performer for a range of internationally renowned companies such as Pina Bausch’s Tanztheater Wuppertal, Luca Silvistrini’s Protein, Ben Wright’s BGROUP, and Hagit Yakira Dance. He specialises in techniques such as release, contact, improvisation, flying-low, and physical theatre.

As a choreographer Joel has performed his own work at a variety of established venues both in the UK and abroad, such as Sadler’s Wells Lillian Baylis Studio, The Place, Tramway, and L’Escaut (Brussels). Joel was also commissioned to create a dance film work for Ballet Boyz in January 2020, which was premiered in March 2021 as part of an online festival celebrating the life of Sir Ken Robinson. Joel has received Arts Council funding over the last four years consecutively for the research and development, rehearsals and touring for the trilogy of works, Anatomy Park.

Joel received a Distinction in Performance Design and Practice, at UAL in 2016. He has since used these skills to design, source and construct set and costume for both his own work and other peoples.

Thrilled to be back in the studio with our amazing Associates with guest teachers

Matthew Donohoe graduated from The Brighton Academy in 2022. Since graduating Matthew has traveled the world and worked on some of the world’s largest cruise ships with Royal Caribbean.

Credits since graduating include:
Ensemble/ Fight Captain/ Cover Double J in ‘Saturday Night Fever’ onboard Royal Caribbeans, Liberty of the Seas.
Ensemble/ Cover Pepper in ‘Mamma Mia!’ onboard Royal Caribbeans, Allure of the Seas.
