Rhythm In Art 2026 - OPEN CALL!
Rhythm is everywhere.
It lives in music, movement and sound, but it can also be found in nature, in repetition, in the changing seasons, in waves, footsteps, breathing and the rhythm of everyday life.
Rhythm in Art explores how artists interpret and respond to these rhythms in their own unique ways. For some, rhythm may be influenced by music the beat, tempo, repetition or emotion of a particular sound. For others, it may emerge through colour, line, shape, texture and movement.
Nature has its own rhythm too: the rise and fall of the tide, the movement of leaves in the wind, the cycles of growth and decay, day becoming night. These natural patterns can influence the way an artist sees and creates.
There is no single rhythm in art. Each artist finds their own.
This exhibition brings together different interpretations of rhythm, inviting us to look beyond the finished artwork and consider the movement, energy and influences that flow through it.
