Be more, do less, make things.
That’s it, 49 years on this planet and that pretty much sums up my life mantra.

Here’s some new work.
Vintage illustrations adorned with my hand drawn fine line flowers and flourishes, collaged and layered.

Job done. Feeling happy. More to follow.

Work in progress on an imaginary place I’d love to escape to.

Materials I use:
My gorgeous  Lumos Fineliner pen 1 & 3 nibs, and the  003 ultra fine line pen on Daler Rowney Aquafina smooth watercolour paper (I love the tone and texture of this paper for fine line drawing work)

In case we haven’t met: hey 👋🏻 I’m Georgie, I make pen and ink drawings and floral-inspired collages, all lovingly hand-cut and full of little details. I’m all about slow art and finding beauty in the process. Here for the creative connection.

I completed this giant doodle while joining the amazing Meg during her 24 writing marathon on . While I didn’t manage to stay the whole 24 hours, it was wonderful pass the day in the company of another creative kindred soul.

The technique I used was an experiment to create the depth here and I’m pretty happy with how the centre turned out! 🌑🌕

Well that was a labour of love! My 1st giant A3 floral doodle drawing complete. I call them doodles because I don’t quite know where they are going to be when I start them. I zone out and let them figure themselves out as I go.
I just let the pencil decide. (Yes I do sketch them first because that’s all part of the process I love🥰.)

I’ll share with you how I create one of these very soon.

I’ve had about 2 of these on the go for the past 6 months and I figured it was about time I finished them!

These giant A3 floral doodles are what I create during my down time. The still moments of the day, in front of the telly with a good film perhaps with a glass of wine. Or on my days off in my studio, with my favourite playlist blaring while I sing at the top of my voice, blissfully unconcerned about who might hear my not-so-dulcet tones.

Perhaps these are the real art? They’re the ones that bring me the most joy, the ones made slowly and lovingly, over months, in the stolen, spare moments life leaves me.

In those moment, when you allow yourself to step off the treadmill of productivity or duty, what might you create if you gave yourself the space?

Materials I use:
My gorgeous Lumos Fineliner pen 1 & 3 nibs, and the 003 ultra fine line pen on Daler Rowney Aquafina smooth watercolour paper (I love the tone and texture of this paper for fine line drawing work)
