Open Mic fun every 2nd Thursday! 🎤
Live music, comedy, poetry & storytelling welcome. This is not a karaoke night, so no singing over backing tracks.

However, live instruments, drum machines, synths, loopers and sequencers are welcome.

🎶 A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came along to Open Mic Night at Ye Olde Swan last night! 🎤😊 This months Poster Boy is David LoveAll...mmmmmm...

Our regular Open Mic is as normal now and takes place every second Thursday of the month - so next one Thursday 13th August.

It was another fantastic evening of live music. A special welcome to our newcomers, Bob and Gary 👏 – we hope you enjoyed yourselves, and we look forward to seeing you both again soon! 😊

Thanks again to everyone who played, sang, listened, supported and helped make it such a great night. ❤️ It's the people who come along that make these evenings so special. 🎶

(Long text!) What a great night again this Thurs!🥳🤩 Thank you so much for coming along and sharing your music with eachother...or just coming along to have a drink and listen to the show 😘. Gonna try some more seating next time so you are all comfy as possible!

BTW....the next open mic is moved to the LAST THURS of July, so it syncs-in with the the BRIGHTLINGSEA FREE MUSIC FESTIVAL…do let others know (who don't use Facebook 🤪). Should be an amazing week/weekend…as always!

Very important to me….to Noreen, pleeease do sing for us next time!🙏🏻👍🏻. And to the legend that is Sue, sorry we don't do backing tracks 😔. However, I WILL be accompanying you on Bette Davis Eyes (and I’m learning Dream A Little Dream for you) next time!...if you let me🙏🏻…?

This month's cover boy is Danny. He thinks I’m ‘gassing him up’ by saying that “I’ve never heard you play so well”, but he really knocked it out the park this Thurs!👍🏻

🎤🎶 Hello, lovely people of Brightlingsea and beyond! We hope you'll be joining us for this Thursday's Open Mic at the Swan! 🎶🎤
Be prepared to perform two songs to start with. Time and numbers permitting, we'll absolutely go around again later in the evening. If you've already played your two solo tunes but would like to accompany a singer or join another musician for a number, that's a brilliant way to get some extra music time in on a busy night — and it's very much encouraged! 🎸🪘🎷🥁🎙️

🎤 Only two more weeks to get your songs together for the Swan Open Mic! 🎶

We’re still finding our feet with the piano setup, and space is definitely TIGHT 😅 — so please bear with us while we work things out.

For the June 11th open mic, come prepared to do two songs to start with. Time and numbers permitting, we’ll absolutely go around again later in the evening.

One great way to get back up on stage on a busy night is to collaborate with others! So if you’ve already done your two solo tunes but want to accompany a singer or join another musician for a number, that’s brilliant and very much encouraged 🎸🪘🎷🥁🎙️

What a great first night for the return of Open Mic at Ye Olde Swan Brightlingsea!!!
Great turn out and great performances. Wonderful to see everyone enjoying themselves...especially the 'party girls' at the bar! Brilliant energy!! Thanks for all your kind words and encouragement

🎤 This Thursday 14th! Bring your songs, your instruments, your friends...hell, even bring the spouse! Music starts at 8pm so get there to enjoy the music from the get-go. Great selection of beer, wine and spirits if your not playing (...or if you are 😉).
