Gone and done a star wars themed space mural for my son's bedroom.
We went the whole hog and got him a new floor put down also, plus some darth vader pyjamas for his joy.

Oh hi etc. My son and me have been working hard in December on an extra special St George & the dragon diorama. Should have taken a few progress photos but couldn't be bottomed.
Here it is. Try and enjoy. Christmas and all that.
Might repost it on St George's day as a topical treat.

Converting miniatures I have found online to He-man miniatures. I will order a mini that I can convert to Skeletor next. He-man is primed and ready to paint.

I could have sworn I'd uploaded these brutes. No sign of them on my page though.

Nearing the bottom of my casting resin canister now. Probably do one more casting model then lay off resin for a while.

Need to begin my next labyrinth painting. Ludo, the hairy, horned Nigel Planer look-a-like is next. Come to think of it, he has a similar manner and voice to Neil from the young ones - wonder if they based it on him? They claim he is based on the kids book 'where the wild things are' but we know better. Next labyrinth character I will probably paint is Jareth played by singer David Essex.

For now check out my completed diorama featuring a feasting t rex ripping out the festering entrails of a dying/dead styracosaurus. Watch him slobber everywhere with no table manners whatsoever.

One good thing about this lock down is I'm actually getting a lot of things done. Dioramas and catching up with paintings etc. Soon I can finish the album I was recording but abandoned due to nothing but lazyness and do a little work on house and garden. Still to start a massive copy of Millais' masterpiece, 'the lady of shallot' for our living room. Daunting.

After fixing the disastrous resin pour on the pond for my diorama 'Jurassic Steven's Park'
I can begin putting it together.

Next step: add static grass and tarmac path.

Welcome to yet another episode of How Dare I Be So Wonderful.

Just completed this shark lamp. Gave the shark and seal a thin coat of resin to give them a wet look. Sadly it has killed a little bit of the sharks detail but it looks more realistic now as the beasts look like they've just left the sea, with the water spilling over the sharks skin.

On the whole, I'm pretty pleased with it but it could be better. There are a few defects in the casting: one too many air bubbles and I wish the 'water' was a little more transparent, though the lighting does help that a bit. However, this is a very hard and unpredictable thing to pull off so I shouldn't be too fussy.

Some aspects on this I award 10 out of 10, others 2 out of 10. Reasonable success all things considered.

Welcome to the latest wrist-thick slab of Harry Knows How.
Here is the latest stage of my Dino diorama.

Just one more palm tree to finish and I may add another rock. Added a bit of triceratops skeleton sunk into the mud. Next step is to add the dead styracosaurus and the feasting Tyrannosaurus rex. Not long now kids.

Sorted out the mistake on my jurassic Steven's park diorama.
The resin pour on the pond pulled up all the paint leaving patches of white, so I had to chip it all away with a chisel and paint it again. This time I'll seal it before I pour the resin. I'll add a few submerged branches and stones too. Make a couple ducks for it etc.

Next steps: apply static grass and flower garden, paint the oldies, piece it all together etc. I've ordered a tarmac flock effect for path and trying to find a geriatric jogger or dog walker on ebay.

Constructed the park bench from games workshop miniatures and their sprues. Bin made from an old marker pen top.

Will add the dinosaur at the end and maybe a tree if there is room.

Been working on my Dino diorama today. Begun to paint my palm trees and nearly done painting my styracosaurus. Not my greatest paint job but it will do. Will add a few more details tomorrow. Won't matter too much if it not brilliant as I will add some gory blood effects in and around his wound.

Been working on my shark and seal diorama/ lamp. Done most of the water splash effects, might add one or two more dribbles. Sadly the photos don't quite pick up the subtleties of the water effect (unless you zoom in) but it does look a lot like water. Next step is giving the shark and seal a thin coat of resin to achieve a wet look. Next I will prepare a suitable base with the led lighting fitted. The light with emit from the base illuminating the scene from below, making it glow from the inside. I've tested it and it works nicely.
