What I find funny is how long I can sleep, and still feel exhausted! Yesterday I had a good twelve hours, and a few hours later I was exhausted again. I’m hoping that I soon get answers as it’s been over 10 years of this. I have periods of being completely exhausted, walking difficulty, coordination problems…the list goes on, then it may ease off for a little while. I’m hoping to get answers soon with the latest barrage of tests I having. The last one was an evoked potential test, I hope I remembered the name of it right! Basically, you are wired up like robocop, then they deliver a series of electric impulses to various parts of your body..mainly feet, knees, hands, thighs. This apparently measures the time it takes for the nerves to send messages to the brain. It’s a bit painful, it feels like having a tattoo. But the longer the test goes on for (about 30 shocks to each area), you get used to it. They also did another test where I had to concentrate on a red circle on a screen while they changed the patterns behind it. I passed that one. That was to check my optic nerve was ok…that was a relief. More MRI’s to follow and that should be enough to give me some sort of idea of what is going on.
In the meantime, I between the sleeping, I’m now on a kind of keto diet. I think they call it ‘messy keto’. It’s like a very low carb diet. I also quit sugar….i know, I’m still in shock myself. It’s been 3 weeks and to be honest I’m not missing sugar. I’ve already lost a stone in weight, so I hopeful to lose the rest very quickly. The reason for this healthy eating lark is that I went to a health check and was told I’m an obese dwarf (if I was 6’ 3” it wouldn’t have been a problem). The excuse of shrinking did not work. To look at me, you wouldn’t think I was overweight. So I’m not having to lose a ridiculous amount. But it feels good to be able to do the diet despite not being as active as I’d like.
I’m working as much as I can in between the sleeps. I realised I hadn’t drawn any furry critters in some time. So the critter I chose to draw is one of my cats, Daisy. She’s a nutter of a critter. Very bossy, but very caring in her own way.
A reminder that I do do comissions of pets, anybody who requires one as a Xmas present should ideally book now. I usually open the books a lot earlier in the year, but because of how things have been it’s been it wasn’t possible.
I hope you all have a wonderful week, let me know inthe comments if your year has had an unusual start to it.
