🌎🎭 Happy World Theatre Day 🎭 🌎
The curtain lifts, the lights awake,
A hush falls in its gentle wake,
Across the world, both near and far,
We gather where the stories are.
On wooden boards or city street,
Where strangers’ hearts and voices meet,
A whispered line, a daring cry,
Can lift a soul or make one sigh.
The actors wear a thousand faces,
They live in time, in borrowed places,
With every step, with every line,
They make our fleeting lives align.
Through tragedy and laughter bright,
They turn our darkness into light,
And in their truth, both raw and clear,
We find the things we could not hear.
No walls can hold what theatre brings,
It lives in words, in breath, in things,
A glance, a pause, a trembling hand,
A moment only hearts can stand.
So let the curtain rise today,
In every land, in every way,
For stories told and yet to be,
Still shape the world we long to see.
