✨Limited spaces available for this three day workshop with ceramic artist Harriet Caslin.

✨Easy and flexible payment options available.

Details in the caption below.👇

Coming this July, we’ll be joined by Harriet Caslin, an Essex-based ceramic artist specialising in slip-cast porcelain lighting and sculptural work. Her practice explores movement, repetition, and light, creating pieces that evoke a sense of intrigue and atmosphere.

During this workshop, students will create sculptural and semi-functional ceramics using simple slip-casting moulds. Students will explore pattern, texture and vibrant surface design while learning techniques such as casting, carving, smoothing, altering and joining to transform basic forms into expressive pieces.

𐃡 Day 1
Harriet will introduce the slip casting process, how to prepare pigmented slip and layer multiple layers of clay into simple casting moulds. Harriet will demonstrate mapping out the pattern on the form, simple mark making and carving the piece.

𐃡 Day 2
Harriet will demonstrate some more detailed carving and smoothing techniques for the students to implement into their own work. Students will explore the world of casting and joining pieces together to create more abstract and dynamic pieces.

𐃡 Day 3
Students will carve the pieces cast the day before, joining and refining the work made so far. Harriet will give a short presentation of her own work and final steps beyond the greenware stage of making into bisque firing, sanding and glazing.

13th - 15th July 2026 | 3 Day Workshop | £600

John has created a world within clay. 🤩

The textures tell one story, while the glazes tell another - from earthy, volcanic surfaces to pools of crystalline blue that sparkle in the sunlight.

This piece has a really striking organic, almost geological feel to it. The turquoise centre, earthy browns, crater-like textures and coral-inspired forms make it look like a miniature landscape, reef or aerial view of an unknown planet.

Great work John. 👏

The Japanese art of making cracks beautiful.

Most people would see a broken bowl.

Kintsugi invites us to see something else: a story worth preserving.

We spent the afternoon carefully repairing broken bowls, embracing imperfections and celebrating the beauty found in mending.

Send this to someone who needs a reminder that imperfect doesn’t mean ruined.

If you would like to experience Kintsugi for yourself, we’ll be running another workshop on the 25th October. Workshop details are available on our website in our bio.
