Good luck to all Mid Wales Dance Academy Senior Students in their Summer Showcase - few tickets still available for 11am today!

Mid Wales Dance Academy Senior School is excited to work with Maestro Music UK on a new ballet being developed by an award-winning composer with Welsh roots − Daryl Griffith (who has not only orchestrated and conducted ballets for Matthew Bourne, but was also former music director at London City Ballet.)  Our version of this well-loved tale will feature our 65 talented dance students dancing with moving projections and a growing beanstalk, designed by Adam Read. Many former MWDA students have gone to become professional dancers; don’t miss your chance to talent-spot the next generation- and see sneak preview excerpts before this ballet’s world premiere here in April 2027!

We are delighted to share that five students from Mid Wales Dance Academy’s senior school have secured places on vocational dance training courses and will head off to full-time training in September.

These five talented MWDA students have also been a part of our BFB’s production of The Nutcracker since they were all very young, it’s been so wonderful to see them grow and develop as dancers. We wish them all the luck, and we look forward to welcoming them back in the future!

Pictured are Sarah-May Gunning (seated right) and Kaylah van Staden (seated left), who will be going to the NPTC dance course; Willa-Rose Callender (left), who is going to The Hammond School; Oscar Kelsey (centre), who is going to Central School of Ballet; and Flora Warry (right), who is going to London Studio Centre.

You can read more here about these wonderful students in this B&R article!
