Led by Pater Philipp Meyer .lacensis brought BCF26 to a close with a stunning programme entitled Bach and Mendelssohn: The Eternal Legacy.

The festival finished with Bach's extraordinary motet Singet dem Herrn ein neues Lied, a joyful call to praise God through music and dance. George Herbert would have approved!

We look forward to welcoming more international ensembles to BCF in the future 🌍

A bumper Cymanfa Ganu took place on Festival Sunday at iconic Plough Lane Chapel as festival goers sang their way through the great Welsh and English hymn book.

The congregation were kept on their toes by Aberhonddu MD Lynnette Thomas.

Continuum marked their return to BCF with a stunning performance at Brecon Cathedral exploring the poetry of George Herbert set by composers through the centuries.

The concert saw two world premieres including Richard Barnard's A Wreath and King of Glory by Stuart B**r.

Vaughan Williams' Five Mystical Songs brought things to a close, with rising star baritone and BCF favourite Alexander Semple accompanied by George Herbert on the organ and a rousing Chorus singing Let All the World to finish

Festival Sunday saw a fascinating exchange between academics and composers as Richard Barnard explored the soundworld of 'A Wreath' which was given its premiere by Continuum at Brecon Cathedral soon after.

World experts on Herbert Simon Jackson and Helen Wilcox also explained how Herbert saw music as a very real way of connecting heaven and earth.

We can't wait to hear the recorded version of A Wreath which will be released by Continuum later this year!

We welcomed a brand new choir this year at BCF with Hope Pugh's recently formed vocestavae on duty at St Mary's Church.

The Swansea based group presented a mass by Francisco Guerrero, a classic of the Spanish Renaissance.
