We also invite the audience to shape the musical journey of the weekend with many free and communal singing events.

Our very special fifth edition takes place between 16 and 19 July across venues in and around beautiful Brecon.

Free drop in session 1-5pm open to everyone (age 12 +) this Saturday 13th June at the Art Studio, 1st floor at The Muse at Brecon .. getting closer to creating Brecon's own Festival Flags, come get involved!! Designing and cutting lino blocks, to be part of the finished flags and take home your own print. Artist led and all materials provided. We'd lovw to see you!

Introducing...Contrepoint 💫

We’re delighted to welcome rising stars for their Brecon Choir Festival debut this July.

Drawn from the UK’s leading choirs and conservatoires, this exciting emerging ensemble brings their acclaimed concert series 'Love' to the beautiful surroundings of Brecon Cathedral.

Expect a rich tapestry of music celebrating love in all its forms - from tenderness to passion, devotion to longing, and even a touch of mischief.

The concert also includes the first performance of a new work by young composer William Cox, setting the poetry of George Herbert - made possible by a gift from the George Herbert Society, in memory of Dr Michael C. Schoenfeldt.

💫 Very special commission announced 💫

We're thrilled to announce that the American tenor and composer Blake Morgan, a member of VOCES8, will create a new arrangement of the iconic folk song Ar Lan y Môr for at this year's Brecon Choir Festival.

One of the great Welsh folk songs - full of memory and deep longing - reimagined for one of the world’s finest vocal ensembles. This promises to be a very special moment indeed 🔥

Hear the world premiere at our Grand Concert on Saturday 18 July in ancient Brecon Cathedral.

With huge thanks to the private syndicate of supporters whose generosity has made this commission possible 🙏

Continuum mark their return to Brecon after their standout 2024 appearance with George Herbert: The Journey of the Soul - a special concert exploring the soul’s journey towards God.

Founded by Harry Guthrie in 2018, Continuum brings together some of the finest young singers in the UK, many with links to Trinity College Cambridge - George Herbert’s own alma mater.

The programme features Vaughan Williams’ Five Mystical Songs, two new commissions by Stuart Beer and Richard Barnard, and the Welsh premiere of Lucy Walker’s Heaven.
