🏪 Calling all Angus makers, crafters and small business entrepreneur dreamers 🏪
Summer's End was always about more than a weekend - it was built for economic regeneration, and that starts on the High Street.
So here's the news: we have TWO retail spaces to offer in our High Street festival shop, and we're looking for two local entrepreneurs to take them.
This is not just for makers and crafters - it’s also an opportunity to try out your ideas for things that would work on the High Street.
The deal - all covered by the festival:
✅ No rent. No utilities. We cover both.
✅ Your own allocated retail space (approx. 2m x 3.5m) in the shop with shared window frontage
✅ 16-week residency starting 1st October
✅ Business support and coaching if you want it - product, pricing, network building, marketing, whatever's useful
✅ We provide the till/POS and can even cover your sales on the days you can't be there
✅ And if you decide to take the leap into your own High Street premises afterwards, we'll help you with that too - including introductions to the council and Scottish Enterprise
What we're looking for:
👉 A local business idea or product with genuine ambition to grow - our hope is these spaces become stepping stones to permanent shops of your own on the High Street
👉 Founders or your team able to commit to at least 2 days a week minimum (Mon or Tues + Fri or Sat), looking after your space and mucking in with the others, co-op style to support other units in the shop
👉 Sorry, no alcohol or fresh food businesses just now- licensing restrictions (we're working on that for the future)
Applications are open NOW. First residencies start 1st October.
