Winter Zoetrope: I started this zoetrope before last Christmas and it was supposed to have other elements - pine trees being covered in snow, and a twinkling North star. Unfortunately those elements just did not work and I shelved it.

Then got too busy this year to pick it up again, so decided to publish it in it's current form.

If you have any ideas for another element to make it more complete please let me know in the comments. Who knows, maybe you'll see it next Christmas!

Blender How: 276 frame animation inside 23 frame loop: Why? because Zoetrope...

I'm not a Blender expert, but I don't think there are any other videos about how to make ultra smooth 3D zoetrope animations with this technique - which I call "Animation Multiplexing" - the same technique applies in Maya too.

It allows you to create very smooth detailed animations inside very short loops.

The key is running multiple copies of the same animation concurrently - this is how you encode a 276 frame animation inside a 23 frame loop (or any Y frame animation inside a much shorter X loop).

This video is a brief overview of the process - not a Blender tutorial! It's intended for folks who already know Blender well (or Maya).
