Thinking of coming to our play reading but don’t know Bradford?

Here's some useful info for first time visitors.

Our venue Kala Sangam is on Bank Street right in the heart of town -above Greggs and right across the road from the gorgeous Waterstones in The Wool Exchange.

We’re just a short walk from either Bradford Forster Square and Bradford Interchange train station. Lots of parking available at The Broadway.

There’s shopping and eating in The Broadway or you could check out some of Bradford's brilliant independents.

-Pizza Pieces and The Exchange Craft Beer House under the Wool Exchange on Market Street.

-Tiffin Coffee and Lefteris Cafe are both lovely and super central.

Might be a bit too cold for dancing in the fountains in Millennium Square but Bradford 2025 Ramadan Pavilion will be looking stunning.

What's all this then?

This Girl Did is a project championing women and girls in sport, bringing to life a forgotten story from our past. It's a play about ladies cricket written by Keighley lass Kirsty Smith produced by the brilliant Henri Duckworth.

But what are we actually doing?

We're holding a script in hand reading of the play at Kala Sangam in Bradford on 29th March. This will involve fabulous actors performing the play with...a script in their hand. They'll have a had minimal time to rehearse under the expert direction of Aisha Khan. It's not a full performance of a finished play. It's a chance to test our ideas in front of an audience. We want your opinions!

Is that it?

Of course not! This is just the start of a much bigger project so follow this page to be updated on our journey.

Can we go now?

Yes thanks for reading, make sure you tell all your friends.
