Adult Only Roles;
Rapunzel — A princess stolen at birth by Witch Gothel and hidden in a tower. Known for her iconic long blonde hair, she’s turning 18 and dreams of life beyond the walls she’s always known. Sweet, curious, easily misled, and raised on Gothel’s lies about the dangers of the outside world.
Finn — A charming rogue with a talent for trouble. Self interested, quick witted, and always chasing the next big payout. He is tempted to the tower for the reward… but ends up guiding Rapunzel to freedom. The question is: can he be trusted?
Witch Gothel — Warm and motherly when things go her way, but manipulative and dangerous when they don’t. She kidnapped Rapunzel as a baby and raised her in isolation, convincing her the world is terrifying so she’ll never leave.
Dame Nina Nifty — The village hairdresser and chaotic mother figure. Loud, lovable, hopelessly dramatic, and always hunting for her next romance. Her children, Jack and Jill, look nothing like her, but they follow her everywhere.
King — Ruler of the kingdom and Rapunzel’s father. Determined, emotional, and desperate to find his daughter. He releases fireworks every year in her honour and offers a huge reward to anyone who can bring her home.
Queen — Strong, hopeful, and the steady heart of the kingdom. She supports the King but isn’t afraid to question his more dramatic ideas. Her belief that Rapunzel is still alive keeps the kingdom going.
Adult or Child role;
Storyteller — A narrator who guides the audience through the tale. Appears at the start of Act 1, the start of Act 2, and at the finale.
Jack — Nina’s son. A lovable village clown with boundless enthusiasm and very few brain cells. Dreams of being a hero and tends to act first, think later.
Jill — Nina’s daughter. The “sensible” one who believes she always has the right answer. Her ideas may not be as clever as she thinks, but she’s determined and helpful.
Dum — Village idiot number one. Surprisingly the “smart” one of the duo. Wants to find the princess mainly for the reward money and what they can spend it on.
Dee — The less intelligent half of the pair. Full of confidence in ideas that absolutely won’t work. Motivated by dreams of buying silly things… like a sausage roll.
Kids Roles;
Rat Ryan — One of Gothel’s frightened little minions. Follows orders out of fear rather than loyalty.
Rat Rosie — Ryan’s partner in panic. Also terrified of Gothel and just trying to survive.
Not required to Audition will be selected in classes;
Ensemble Roles — Ten roles for ITKids students, appearing throughout the show with small lines, reactions, and group moments.
