We'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who came to our Ruby Retirement party and helped us give Pennine Chimes the send off it deserved. We had a lovely evening with most our of nearest and dearest, though sadly not everyone could attend.

Our most heartfelt thanks to Beth Connolly Kim Webb Pauline Corrieri and Cath Morton for directing us across the years, sharing your talent, passion and patience with us all. We are forever indebted 💈❤️

Although Pennine Chimes Ladies Barbershop Chorus is no more, you'll spot our ladies around the organisation and at events for many years to come yet - evidenced by the amount at the Yorkshire Hub day on our home turf last weekend.

It's been a wild ride, 40 years of singers and songs, laughter and tears, intros and tags, tenor dos and bass bums, friendship, love and priceless memories. See you at the next afterglow 😘🥂

48 hours from now a handful of us will be setting up at the venue for our Ruby Retirement party, Saturday 23rd October... last call for any stragglers who haven't confirmed numbers or are suddenly available - we'd love to see you!

After many hours of heartfelt discussion between the leadership team, committee and chorus reps we at Pennine Chimes feel the time is right for us to retire, 40 years after we were first founded.

We would like to thank all our barbershop friends, family, coaches and fans for their support with this hobby we've adored for so many years. We've had such wonderful times and lovely memories, and we know the legacy of Pennine Chimes will last for many more years to come.

Today we said goodbye to one of our beloved friends June.

June sang with Pennine for many years and was an incredible force of a woman, bursting with warmth love and joy; she was never happier than she was deep in convention surrounded by women in song.

Although she'd moved away a little while back to be closer to family, she remained in the hearts of Pennine Chimes and will always stay there. We raise a glass to you June, one gin for an utter ledge 💕

As we mark one year to the day since the nation entered its first lockdown and also 12months since we last sang together in our choruses and quartets, LABBS are proudly supporting Marie Curie UK and the National Day of Reflection today as a day for everyone to come together to commemorate all those who’ve lost their lives in the past year, and to show support for everyone who had lost a loved one, join us and Marie Curie UK for the National

Take a minute to reflect and a moment to connect by joining the minute’s silence at 12 noon, lighting up the night by shining a light at 8pm.
