Today we have had the NHS Community of Practice Celebration in our Main Hall, and it’s been great to see everyone come together for inspirational talks, great food, dhol drumming, Bhangra dancing and networking.

We caught Doctor Amir Khan for a quick chat about why he’s been with us today, and why arts and culture are great for your health! 🫶🏻

Perfect wives. Perfect smiles. Perfect madness.

Suzy Homemaker is a witty, visually striking one-woman dance-theatre show that tumbles through the worlds of Suffragettes, burlesque clubs and 1950s domestic bliss.

Blending contemporary dance, theatre and dark comedy, the show explores the pressures placed on women throughout history — and what happens when the performance starts to crack.

Captain Sid landed at Bradford Arts Centre last night, and what a wild ride it was!

Dhamaka Arts brought 'Khandan (Family) – The Shame Generation' to our theatre for laughs, tears, side eyes and plenty of energy.

If you missed it, you can catch it again tonight and tomorrow, with tickets starting at just £1: https://bdartscentre.co.uk/whats-on/events/khandan-shame-generation/

Our Stamped & Scripted project commissioned by Historic England is officially underway! Last week, students from Coop Academy Penny Oaks and Newby Primary School toured Bradford Arts Centre and met our postmaster, who shared stories from its days as a busy general post office.

Inspired by our postmaster, the students wrote and posted their own letters, which will play an exciting part in the next stage of this project. So, watch this space!

With thanks to the University of Huddersfield for our amazing post-box!

Check our what last years SAMĀNATĀ commission recipient, Jason Patel, had to say about his time with us and his mentoring:

'Having a full week in a space was invaluable it allowed me to lay everything out, expand ideas, test them, refine them, and shape them into something shareable.'

'The development process was genuinely enlightening. I began to find my voice as a theatre‑maker and could finally see the bigger picture and the wider vision.'

'It has ignited something in me that I feel compelled to keep exploring. The commission has opened a door creatively, and I’m eager to see where it leads.'
