WHAT A DAY!! 🧡⚽🎆🏆📣🚌

The entire team have not slept a wink... we are all still BUZZING after yesterday's finale of Around the World in the Peace Gardens. Thank you so much for joining us and celebrating the skills and passions of all our amazing communities here in Sheffield. 🎉

We are so proud to have brought together so many people across the week to celebrate the true meaning of football, to celebrate the global community making it what it is and to be making work right now that challenges the hostile, racist rhetoric certain world leaders, press and online accounts would have us believe is the norm. Events like this show us all how much love and care is on our streets, in our towns and cities and on our pitches. ❤️

Congratulations to our very well deserved winner of the SBC Peace Prize, Melinda 🧡 she works so hard day in day out to protect people seeking sanctuary and brings so much love and joy to all those that know her. She doesn't do it for prizes but we really wanted to recognise and thank her. 🏆

We DID IT! We broke the World Record for longest multi club football scarf - 186m! Thank you so much for donating and helping us parade it through the streets, what a moment! 🧣

Thank you to all our amazing panelists, musicians, DJ's and partners. The vibes were IMMACULATE 🤌

We are buzzing after yesterdays Around the World finale! Thank you SO MUCH to all who joined us, it's meant the world to us to meet so many brilliant people across Sheffield who share our love of football and creativity and want to celebrate the ways it brings us all together - it takes every single one of us to make the team work 📣

There's lots more to say about this project and why it felt so important for us to do this right now...

But for now we want to celebrate the wonderful people of Sheffield FC Inclusive Teams. We loved hanging out with you all and thank you so much for making our WORLD RECORD BREAKERS banner really pop! Did we make you proud!? ❤️🏆⚽

As we kick off our full day of free events at The Peace Gardens, Sheffield today we've got to shout out these megastars from Pye Bank Primary School and their awesome teachers. Year 2 and 3 got stuck into football chants, shirt design and badge making and you can enjoy their incredible artworks this evening as we GLOW UP the city. Join us! 🎆✨🚌

⚽ As part of our production of Around the World, our Youth Theatre of Sanctuary group have designed new augmented reality football shirts, made songs, speeches, banners, badges and stickers. They played a football tournament at U-Mix Centre as well, of course!
