π AWARD-WINNING PROGRAMME: Bradford Digital Creatives
We're thrilled to share that Bradford Digital Creatives has won BEST USE OF DIGITAL - UK at the 24th Annual Museums + Heritage - leading sector magazine and events Awards!
Between February 2025 and March 2026, we delivered Short Film workshops as part of this award-winning programme, reaching 102 young people across five Bradford schools.
THE NUMBERS:
β
100% completion rate
β
Every group screened a finished film on the day
β
Programme-wide: 3,000+ students, 10 schools (2023-2026)
THE IMPACT:
One student at Appleton Academy discovered her acting talent during our workshop and changed her GCSE options to Drama. Across the wider programme, a Carlton Keighley student became a BAFTA Young Game Designers finalist.
Sally Folkard, Head of Screen and Cultural Engagement at the National Science and Media Museum, said: "The success stories coming out of Bradford Digital Creatives are nothing short of inspiring - from a 14-year-old becoming a BAFTA Young Game Designers finalist after being inspired in a workshop, to students uncovering talents that have shaped their future education choices."
The judges were impressed by the co-curation model and real-world impacts of the project.
WHY IT WORKS:
Students arrive with no scripts. By 3:30pm they're screening completed films. Accessible tools (iPads), clear structure, student-led decisions.
Huge congratulations to the National Science and Media Museum, Born in Bradford, and all partners involved in this award-winning work. Proud to have contributed to something that's now nationally recognised.
