We've got some important and disappointing news to share with you.

After seven years alongside Bradford's creative community, BPH is entering a period of pause, and sadly, all of us in the staff team will be leaving at the end of August.

It's not the chapter we'd hoped to write, but we're determined to do this properly by honouring our commitments, finding good homes for our projects, and making sure the work we've built together doesn't disappear. We don't think this is the end of what BPH stands for, and we'd love your help shaping what comes next, starting with a hybrid public consultation event on 29 June - hope you can join us.

Sid Akbar's back at Bradford Arts Centre with another autobiographical show of q***r self-discovery.

Khandan (Family): The Shame Generation
Written and performed by Sid Akbar Dhamaka Arts
11 - 13 June 2026
Bradford Arts Centre
🎟️ £1+

We're proud to have supported Sid through our Make Work fund, which saw the development and premiering of his debut show, 'Besharam [Shame-LESS]', back in 2023.

Sid's new show, 'Khandan (Family)', will take you on a tea-fueled journey of family duty, shame, and that uncomfortable truth that your chosen family can come with its own complications.

Sid Akbar is a q***r South Asian Bradford lad, and we're thrilled for his next homecoming premier of new solo work. If it's anything like his last show, you can expect a turbulent intergalactic ride of emotion with real laugh-out-loud moments.

Book your tickets today - from just ÂŁ1 - and climb aboard.

💡 Through workshops and peer learning, you’ll explore:
• Sustainable business models
• Authentic marketing & online presence
• Financial confidence
• Managing workload & avoiding burnout

You won’t just learn—you’ll contribute to research influencing future policy with YPIP.

✨ We’re thrilled to announce that Davinder Singh of has been selected as the recipient of the Four Nations Outdoor Arts Bursary 2026!

Davinder has just returned from the programme’s residency in Brecon, where artists from across the UK and Ireland came together to develop new ideas, experiment and collaborate.

This exciting opportunity marks a new chapter for Punjabi Roots – expanding their work from community and classroom settings into dynamic outdoor performances that bring music, dance and cultural storytelling to wider audiences.

Make sure to catch their premiere at BD: Festival this July, before they tours across the UK and Ireland as part of the Four Nations programme.

We can’t wait to see how this work evolves – huge congratulations Davinder! 👏

As we celebrate the way we work collectively at our Connecting Culture: The Bradford Way conference today, we're proud to announce our new and experimental podcast - The Art of Collaboration!

Episode 1. Producing a Collaborative Masterpiece is now live and available wherever you prefer to listen to your podcasts - head to https://bdproducinghub.co.uk/the-art-of-collaboration/

In this premiere, our hosts Frances Murphy and Nicole Joseph are joined by two incredible creative leaders: Lisa Mallaghan (former Executive Director at BPH) and award-winning theatre director Joyce Nga-Yu Lee. Together, they unpack the journey of creating Zara, a collaborative masterpiece and epic outdoor production by Mind the Gap - England’s premier learning disability performance company.

This episode was recorded in Spring 2025.

We hope you enjoy this episode - we'll be publishing episodes fortnightly until summer 2026.

✨ There is a week left to apply to be a Trustee at Bradford Producing Hub

We're looking for new trustees to join our Board and help shape the next chapter of our work.

We’re an artist-led charity working to dismantle barriers in the arts and build more equitable systems in their place. As we move beyond Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture and into our 2026–2029 strategic phase, this is an important moment to expand our governance and leadership.

We’re particularly interested in people with experience in:

• Chairing, or an interest in developing into a future Chair role
• Arts and cultural leadership
• Being an independent artist or creative practitioner
• Charity finance or accountancy
• Fundraising and charitable giving
• HR or legal practice
• Heritage or capital development

We are especially keen to hear from people whose voices are underrepresented in arts leadership and governance, including people from the Global Majority, LGBTQIA+ communities, disabled people, and people from working-class backgrounds.

You don’t need previous board experience. We value lived experience, strategic thinking, and a commitment to equity just as much as formal governance knowledge.

This is a voluntary role and a meaningful opportunity to influence cultural policy locally and nationally, while supporting Bradford’s creative community.

📅 Closing date: Monday 23 March 2026 at 11 PM
