How to Date a Girl
How to Date a Girl is a sharp, funny, and painfully honest play about modern dating, expectations, and the stories we tell ourselves about love.
Sara is fed up. Fed up with awkward silences, underwhelming men, and dates that go nowhere. One by one, she keeps trying—different cafés, different conversations, different men—but each encounter collapses under its own weight. Some are boring. Some are kind but wrong. Some almost work… until they don’t.
As Sara navigates a carousel of failed romances, she dissects every moment with brutal self-awareness and biting humour, speaking directly to the audience as she searches for someone who feels right. And when she finally finds him, it isn’t perfect. He has flaws. So does she. But for the first time, the flaws don’t end the story—they start it.
Being with him doesn’t just change how Sara sees love. It forces her to confront herself.
Warm, messy, and unapologetically real, How to Date a Girl is a play about vulnerability, growth, and learning that the hardest part of loving someone else is learning how to love who you already are.
