Gigs in the Cellar: Mr Pineapple + Support 🎸

Madcap prog rock with squiggly guitar solos, lush soundscapes, outrageous drum fills and just the right amount of silliness with traces of kazoo.

Bringing prog rock and Millennial nostalgia to the Thames Valley, expect anything from intense musical odysseys to 90s TV theme tunes. Always playful, always tongue-in-cheek, and described by fans as “if music could have ADHD.”

We've entered the three week countdown until Shout! The Mod Musical opens at South Hill Park, and this week it's the turn of Ellie, who plays 'Red' to be introduced.

The youngest of the group, Red is innocent, idealistic and just beginning to navigate the world of adulthood.

Her journey sees her grow from a shy, naïve young woman into someone with confidence, independence and a stronger sense of herself.

Ellie shines in How Can You Tell?/ Wishin’ and Hopin’, and To Sir, with Love.

🎭 Shout! The Mod Musical

South Hill Park Arts Centre has today announced that parking charges will be introduced in our car park from September 2026, marking a significant but necessary change in our 53-year history.

Since opening in 1973, we have resisted introducing parking charges, recognising the importance of keeping access to arts and culture as affordable and welcoming as possible for residents and visitors.

However, the charitable trust that operates the centre has concluded that parking income is now essential to ensure our long-term sustainability.

South Hill Park is operated by an independent not-for-profit charitable trust, with all surpluses reinvested directly into our charitable objectives, arts programmes, community activities and the maintenance of our historic buildings and estate.

We wanted to take this opportunity to share the key information you need to know about these changes.

Further details of the parking arrangements, including charging structures and implementation information can be found on our website at southhillpark.org.uk/find-us

We are very pleased to share the audition notice for our next in-house community production, bringing one of Shakespeare's most beloved comedies to South Hill Park.

This is Much Ado About Nothing, with a twist.

We find ourselves in the jazz-soaked Club Messina in the 1930s.

Beatrice is the club's brightest flame and in-house MC, famed for her razor-sharp wit and allergy to sentimentality. Benedick is the smooth-talking musician who thrives on applause, gossip and verbal sparring. The pair do not get on.

When Hero, the daughter of club owner Leonarto, catches the eye of rising band star Claudio, all seems joyful. But a dastardly plot from disgraced former club owner, Don John, could threaten all...

This community production is open to anyone to audition, and director Heather Wilson welcomes auditions from anyone who'd like to be considered.

One for the music lovers, we've got an evening with a difference in our Recital Room this Friday.

MP3 is a trio led by Martyn Payne, who is mostly known as a drummer and a composer. But he's bringing his first instrument with him to South Hill Park: the vibraphone.

He is joined by guitarist Russell Jarrett and longtime collaborator Marianne Windham on double bass.

Expect intimate, beguiling chamber jazz, as the trio draw you in to an exquisite and hypnotic sound world. The repertoire features radical reworkings of classic jazz tunes from the likes of Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk and Paul Motian as well as a number of Martin’s own evocative compositions.
