Brackley Horror House – A Nightmare on Station Road - Update
I want to clarify that Brackley Horror House 2025 has greatly exceeded expectations. Our focus goes beyond fundraising; we aim to make a meaningful impact.
A "charity event in aid of" is organised to support a registered charity or cause. It signifies that volunteers raise funds while acting independently from the charity. The success we've achieved is remarkable, and I'm here to address your important question: “How Much was Raised for Parkinson's?”
This was my 8th Halloween display, evolving from a few pumpkins in 2017 to last year's extraordinary event. With a dedicated team, we invested immense effort over the last two years.
The scale of 2025 was unprecedented, with costs exceeding £100K, all privately funded. Ticket sales generated £44K, concessions £2.5K, and sponsorship £3K, with approximately 2,550 attendees. Over the past 8 years, Brackley Horror House has raised over £3.3K to support Parkinson's UK.
The response to last year’s event has been overwhelmingly positive. Many attendees left with unforgettable memories, showcasing something new for Brackley.
Our JustGiving page (http://justgiving.com/page/a-nightmare-on-station-road-brackley-horror-house2025) reflects a total of £210. This page allowed supporters who couldn’t attend to contribute.
Parkinson's UK recognised our efforts with a special announcement, which you can view here: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/17uBGMmTMv/. Parkinson’s disease deeply impacts many lives, making this cause as you know personal for me.
Brackley Horror House 2025 was about more than fundraising; it promoted community and awareness. Over the years, we have engaged over 170 local participants, showcasing hidden talents in our community. Local artists, performers, and businesses collaborated, enhancing our unique event, even as we faced attendance challenges (approx. 600, 1200 on Halloween, and 750).
Regrettably, attendance was disappointing due to several competing events, including the Brackley Town Football Club FA Cup game and local fireworks. We recognise that more support could have helped us reach our goals.
Despite our best efforts, it was tough to raise funds for Parkinson's due to circumstances beyond our control. Huge thanks go to everyone who volunteered their time and energy over the past months, contributing to this incredible event.
This event consumed much of my time while running several businesses and supporting my family. The cumulative effect of organising such an event test every aspect of one's life, but I embrace the challenge wholeheartedly.
I apologise for the delay in sharing this update; it has been a trying experience for many involved. For me, Halloween, represents a celebration of creativity and life that I find inspiring.
To all who attended, thank you for supporting Brackley Horror House!
With Blood, Sweat and Tears,
Ben and the entire Team of Brackley Horror House 2025
