Alexander is a very experienced performer, who has been entertaining audiences for 48 years, after starting his career in his home town of Birmingham, where he entered and won local talent competitions. This proved fruitful, with allowing him to perform in many pubs, clubs and fashion shows in the West end , eventually leading to Alexander supporting some big names such as Sugar Minot, Dennis Brow
n and Odyssey! After a successful Christmas tour in Malta, Alexander headed to the South Coast town of Bournemouth. His first summer season was at the Manchester Hotel . Alexander decided to make Dorset his home. His singing career took off in a big way after a Tv appearance on Blind date, With Cilla Black. In 1994 he tried his luck by entering the Echo’s ‘Star Trail’ Singing Competition, which he won at the BIC theatre. This gave him more publicity. Which lead to him appearing on My kind of people with Michael Barrymore and The Big Breakfast. He was also invited to a photo shoot to promote , Frank Skinner's ‘Cooking with Elvis’,
Alexander was lucky to appear at the Yachtsman Association Ball at the exclusive Carlton Hotel in Cannes. These performances, combined with TV appearances and Newspaper stories, gave Alexander a Celebrity Status in and around Dorset. He now enjoys success as a Motown / Soul and reggae singer. including songs from Bob Marley, John Holt, Bill Withers, Otis Redding, Barry White and The Drifters,Luther Vandross; Lionel Ritchie,Tom Jones, James Brown, Van Morrison, Kool and the gang . to name but a few. All his shows are full of energy and involves and interacting with the audience. An element of comedy is also part of his act. Not always though. In 2013 Alexander was head hunted by a musical theatre group for the leading role as Coalhouse Walker Jr. in the Production of Ragtime. The musical opened at the Regent centre in Christchurch. This was a sell out. So Alexander is very flexible as a performer. He also DJ's too so a full nights entertainment can be had. Alexander is available for weddings, Birthdays parties , Ladies night's , garden parties. Festivals and Masonic evenings which includes the Ladies song.
