This Saturday 25 April 2026, the team at Sandy Hill Arts in Corfe Castle, Dorset, has contemporary dance and music workshops happening led by contemporary jazz outfit The Sound of Movement. The Sound of Movement are specialists in merging contemporary jazz and dance, and will teach performance, improvisation , composition and choreography. The workshops take place 12pm - 5pm and are FREE for under 25s courtesy of Arts Council England funding. More details via this link:

There’s 2 days of half-term workshops that Activate is running for children aged 7-14.

These workshops promise to be a fantastic opportunity for young creatives to immerse themselves in the world of writing and performing arts.



Lighthouse Poole

Thursday, October 30th AND Friday, October 31st

10am to 3:30pm each day

(We can also facilitate early drop-off at 9 am and late collection at 4 pm.)

Costs £38 for the whole thing

Join us for two fun-packed days led by a diverse group of professional writers, performers, and musicians. Your child will have the incredible chance to:

- Dance with the amazing award-winning choreographer, Vrushali Harihar.

- Create and perform their very own rap with the talented musician and rapper, Isaiah Dreads.

- Design and construct a paper theatre and puppets under the guidance of Mahtab Grimshaw.

- Get inspired and write their own poem with the brilliant Louisa Adjoa Parker.

The total cost for the whole two-day experience is £38.

If the cost is a barrier, please don't worry, as bursaries are available to ensure every child has the opportunity to participate.

We do ask that children bring a packed lunch with them.

We're excited to announce applications for Saturday Art School Spring 2026 Funded Places are now open!

This opportunity for young people allows for creative exploration outside of school art classes guided by our expert tutors. We offer a range of courses allowing young people to find their creative calling or simply enjoy learning new skills.

Deadline for applications is 27th October 2025 at 9am.

Please note: while places aren't allocated on a first come first served basis, we may close applications early if we receive high volumes of applications to manage expectations as places are limited.

Due to popularity funded places are limited to one young person per household and the young person must be aged 10-15 yrs upon the course start date. All courses are hosted on AUB Campus with materials provided and run for 8 Saturdays.

Our friends and partners at Lighthouse have a fantastic opportunity for prospective Young Producers starting in April 2025. They are looking for two enthusiastic and driven young people who are at the beginning of their career and are keen to get involved in producing and managing live events.

Applicants have to be:
16+ by the start date of the work placement.
Available across April-June 2025

The AUB Access and Participation Team are pleased to confirm that they are able to offer a limited number of fully funded places on the Saturday Art School courses starting in the Spring Term 2025 for aspiring young artists from underrepresented backgrounds. Allowing budding makers, designers and artists to explore creativity outside regular school art classes, guided by our expert tutors.

Young people who meet the eligibility criteria aged 10 – 15 can apply for a wide range of courses. See link for more info and application form.
