We are delighted to announce an exciting new collaboration between First Position School of Dance and Hollywood Academy of Dance.

From September, Hollywood Academy will become part of the First Position family, bringing together the expertise, experience and shared vision of Natalie Pearl and Janne Carrington.

United by a passion for inspiring the next generation, this collaboration brings together exceptional training and unforgettable experiences—creating a place where every child is encouraged to grow in confidence, embrace new opportunities, and develop a lifelong love of dance.

While this marks an exciting new chapter, the heart of the school remains the same: nurturing every student as an individual, building lasting friendships, celebrating achievements, and creating memories that will stay with them long after they leave the studio.

This is more than a collaboration—it's the coming together of generations of experience, creativity, and a shared commitment to giving every child the very best start on their dance journey.

9 incredibly brave FP dads took to the stage tonight to raise money for men’s mental health…..
I think it’s safe to say they had a ball, and judging by the noise from the audience and standing ovation, everyone watching did too!

Honestly couldn’t have been more proud, such an amazing thing to do infront of most of the dance school and friends and family , complete with glitter and guy-liner 🤩

The total money raised is almost £2.5k, which is just insane!!!! Congratulations you fabulous FP daddy’s!!!

Super excited to formally announce that FP has is its first ever Vice Principal! I had never intended to ever have a VP but there is only one person who ever could be…..trained from teeny at FP, mentored by me for her RAD CBTS, observed, assisted and used FP pupils for all her teaching exams , loved by children, teenagers and parents , and let’s face it, she told me she would never leave the school, even when she went to work as a character and dancer at EuroDisney …

Lydia - VP of FP 💕 love you so much and it is your rightful role and couldn’t ever belong to anyone else!

Two Lainey’s of very different generations!
My first show 1992, Corben’s 2026 😆 and yes I still remembered every step of the finale 🙌🏼

Couldn’t be any prouder of my ex FP baby (well never ex, always!) Corben in his first Laine’s show! The standard as always with Laines was absolutely awe inspiring, world class, and without a doubt Corbs shone like the absolute superstar he is!
Matt Cole is doing the most incredible job as Principal and Artistic Director, keeping the Laine legacy going from strength to strength.

Love you so much Corbs and looking forward to seeing you back home in the summer ❤️

FP dads do Take That, Relight my Fire 🔥
To raise money for Men’s Minds Matter - something that is very close to my heart.

We have previously done a few mums dances for charity, but it’s now time for these super hero dads to brave the stage!!
They will be performing at the Layard theatre 2nd July 7pm after the children have watched the DVD premiere of our recent show 😍

There are no words big enough to describe the incredible week we have had of shows, the love, happiness and passion shown on the stage , the beautiful friendships,life long memories and audience members taken through every emotion possible …..my FP children I adore you with all my heart , you are all magical human beings and I’m so grateful to have been able to give you this show and see you all shine like the absolute stars you are , hold on to that feeling and always remember how special you ALL are ✨🌟✨

Creator of NBDD Natalie, also has her dance school in Bournemouth and is in the middle of a weeks run of their biannual show….all profits go to Dorset Children’s foundation, they have very kindly been gifted this incredible prize for silent auction….
This England shirt signed by Marcus Rashford is the actual shirt worn by him during the England v Germany fixture on 10 November 2017, when Rashford was emerging as one of England and Manchester United’s most exciting young talents. The shirt was donated by former England kit man Tom McKenchie, who worked with the England team for more than 20 years and supplied official teamwear under FA contract. The piece celebrates not only Rashford’s football achievements, but also his wider impact as an MBE-recognised campaigner against child food poverty.

The bidding starts at £150, but is expected to raise up to £900 🙏
